Clicked the link, what's the message?

It was a message to Atlanta -

In a nutshell...

He said he knows it was hard - losing the Super Bowl - and he knows it hurts now having them come here and play - and that it hurts to watch but watch anyway - and pay close attention to the greatest QB of all time and the greatest coach of all time - because we'll be ready next time - and it will be us lifting the trophy.

It was nice.

No Barracuda Blocker at your work????  I could barely access the internet when I worked for the man.  Couldn’t play fantasy football, no access to pornhub.  Who can work in such an environment

'his' city?

He isn't from atl and won nothing here while destroying the team.... It's far from his city

Go away. Just stop it. I've seen your true colors on these forum before with other situations. Your opinion is just heavily biased against Vick, and so many other NFL players have done worse and had less harsh punishments. Get over it. Michael Vick will always been one of the top Atlanta sports athletes of all time, along with Hank Aaron, Dominique Wilkins, Chipper Jones, and many other greats. Michael Vick made the Falcons fan base grow in huge numbers, people fail to admit that. He led the 2004 Falcons to an 11-5 record, divisional title/1st round bye, and NFC Championship before losing to a dominant 13-3 Eagles team in Philly. He was the first to ever win a postseason game in Lambeau Field.  Matt Ryan's best team was 11-5 too but had home field advantage the whole time thanks to Green Bay's upset win in Dallas.

Lmfao I’d tell Vick to stick to what he’s good at, but drowning dogs isn’t exactly a talent.

How about paying for his mistakes. He's pretty good at that. I don't condone anything Vick did by saying....

Vick grew up in the projects where dog fighting is as natural as a lot of people going deer hunting in the south. It's no more inhumane than to climb a tree and wait for an animal to walk by so you can blow a hole in it and post pictures on your Facebook account. It's how he was brought up.

Name one other person you've ever heard of going to prison for dog fighting. He made a mistake and paid dearly for that mistake and hasn't been in trouble since. Has done things for the community and spoken about his mistakes.

Maybe it's time to forgive the man.

I absolutely agree that he’s paid for his mistakes. He served his time, however that doesn’t mean he’s exempt from social commentary.

That being said the entire “message” he was conveying seemed way too preachy for my tastes. We knew how great the Patriots were before we went into the Super Bowl, h@ll everyone did. I wouldn’t call Atlanta “his” city either. That’s a bit of a stretch in my opinion.

Disagree with you on the comparison between dog fighting and hunting. A good hunter tries to make his kills as quick and painless to the animal as possible. Ideally it’s one shot, one kill. Then they typically use the parts of the animal for food, clothing, or try to sell it. This is vastly different than drowning or electrocuting an animal to death. This is essentially torturing the animal after it’s already been in a vicious fight. So no, it’s not the same at all.

I can name a few people I’ve heard of going to jail for dog fighting. None of them pro athletes and a good amount that were sentenced way more harshly than Vick. One individual got sentenced to 15 years in prison. Comparatively speaking, Vick got off easy.

I wouldn’t base my argument in comparing Vick and Ryan’s on field successes.

people can choose to not like Vick for things he has done, whether it’s his illegal activities, or him admitting he never committed to mastering his craft when here. Some may hate him for the wrong reasons, but he has given enough ammo for people to not be a fan anymore.

Agree w all but respectfully disagree with the hunting comparison. Many hunt for food. An accurate shot on a deer drops it very quickly (and it the wild), much different than a long brutal fight for entertainment and betting, followed by electrocution or drowning the beaten dog if they lose.

That said, I am not a fan of trophy hunting and harvest everything I shoot for food. So just throwing that out for anyone preparing to make that rebuttal.

I forgive him, and honestly don’t hate him, but surely won’t put him on a pedestal.
