Should Saints been penalized for whistles?

51 posts in this topic

I ain't talking about the weak whistle man fan who does it on their own.  I'm talking about those fans who were blowing it like crazy during the NFCCG. There was one play in the fourth where half the rams players stopped. And Goff looked like he was just throwing it to his RB for the **** of it, and it got the rams a first down.  However it did affect the rams in negative ways as well.

So should the taints be fined? The whistles are not allowed already, yet their security doesn't care if you bring it in.

There's a good reason for the rule and it makes no sense that they get away with it.  Nobody should be allowed to use an instrument, used by the refs to officiate the game, as a way to add chaos.

"Play to the whistle"....which one?

More classless BS from the official franchise for classless BS.

Remember their serial rapist safety used to play past the whistle.

Like I have been saying, the don’t want to push this too far, like they are clean as snow.

I could easily see them LOSING draft picks and money, not gaining.

Actually kinda surprised no one mentioned it during the game.

This is exactly why I have no sympathy for them or the owner. It was clear as day fans were blowing whistles. You have national footage of it from two fans. But the league turned a blind eye to it because they like the idea of the homefield advantage the Saints have. HeIl, even Joe Buck didn't know what to say when they were cutting to commercial and showing the fake Sean Payton. It's annoying.

Officials at the game should have issued a warning to the crowd and then penalized the Saints if it didn't stop. Couple of unsportsmanlike 15 yard penalties would have stopped that.

That’s EXACTLY what I would have done and HAVE DONE before.

And unlike sex panther, it DOES work every time!

Rams HC should have raised #### about it and the replay officials in NY should have called down to the superdome and made the refs on the field stop it.

If Payton had any class, he would have made an announcement to knock that ish off. I know I know-asking a lot of a coach who approved bounties on other teams players, still somebody should have stopped that crap.

Maybe the refs thought that too.

I know,  I think that is what drove the refs to look the other way:D

We were docked a late round pick for "pumping in noise", so why not?

And since this was a big game, I would say a fourth or third rounder is appropriate!
