Interesting thought, but I'd like to see how he does after a full season at AA

The Jay's have actually added a new rule. Video games will be blacked out starting a certain time prior to first pitch. New manager Charlie Montoya says the biggest complaint from last year was too many guys playing games at inappropriate times.

Cristian Pache isn't going to make this team, and he's three times the baseball player Tim Tebow is.

Bottom of the 1st and Stephen Piscotty launches a solo shot to straight away center!! It's 1-0 A's after the 1st inning!! Welcome to 2019!!

The most impressive part of this game is how much opposite field power is on display. Right-handed hitters on both teams have just wrecked the baseball to right field.

It's funny when teams have the same number retired for multiple players. Yankees have #8 retired for both Yogi Berra and Bill Dickey. The Cubs have #31 retired for both Greg Maddux and Fergie Jenkins. The M's will one day have #51 retired for both Randy Johnson and Ichiro!

Ichiro has announced he will retire after the game today. He had contemplated hanging around another year but went 2 for 31 in Spring and realized it was time to go. It appears he'll shift into a FO role with Seattle.

Great career, would've loved to have seen what he could do if he spent his entire career in MLB instead of those years in Japan.  He would probably be the undisputed hit king.

The A's suffered a major blow in the opening series in Japan losing 1B Matt Olson for an unknown length of time after surgery on his hand.
