4 Remaining Playoff Teams Have 1 Thing In Common

No because last years defense was a different team.

The players were different and the teams they were playing were different.

People think just because a team did something last year that means they should be able to do it again this year.  If everything was exactly the same but that’s not the case.  Different players, different coaches, players age, opposing teams are different.

By your own logic last years team should have been able to rip through the Eagles because of the 2016 offense.  Wrong.  It doesn’t work that way.

Even if everyone would have stayed healthy the defense would have been closer to average because of the attrition up front and change in depth and rotational players.... oh yeah and the regression of both starting corners.

The defense wasn’t going to be as good as people hoped.  Injuries just help mask that

Week 1 said they would have been as good.  After that it was injuries.  What would make you think we won’t put out a top-12 defense next year?

Neal was the Falcons best run defender since 2005.  Gone

Allen was our defensive captain who ensured everyone lined up right.  Gone

Debo is the 3rd best player on the team.  Gone

Garrett is our best interior lineman.  Missed a number of games.

All those injuries are up the middle and happened to our leaders.  Teams can’t overcome such attrition, especially when it’s to team leaders

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but the Aints are also top 10 in rushing defense and sacks. Three of the four are top 10 in takeaways and the Aints are 13th, (2 takeaways from top 10). Takeaways are key. That's an area we've struggled in under Quinn (17th, 16th, 27th and 25th).

And we had a key turnover in every playoff game in 2016.  In each game the turnover started out onslaught.  Just could not hold off when NE returned the favor after our TO

Exactly!! Gotta get turnovers! That is why the Falcons won in 2012. They forced turnovers.

Can’t start 2 rookies.  I’d prefer OG in FA and Tackle in draft

Ask Indy...

Offense.  We need a DT, but let’s keep building our offensive unit.  The top 4 scoring offenses are the last remaining teams.  Guess offense wins.  You got this Koetter!!!!

1 Kansas City 35.1.
2 LA Rams 32.8
3 New Orleans 30.8
4 New England 28.1

All of those teams have good OLs. That's our problem. If we did, we would be a top 2, if not the too scoring offense.
