Actually 4..but yeah, I figured Knapp would handle that.. But with so many nfl head coaches as assistants.. It could be any on whatever day managing the clock

Who is the 4th?

TD and the scouting department better not f it up. DQ don’t draft....TD has to be held accountable for the mess the OL DL are in. Scott Pioli has been a great addition but we need a OL DL specialist that can help evaluate that part of the draft. We can fire OL DL coaches because they don’t perform but you can’t make chicken salad out of chicken poo

Do you give TD credit for Grady Jarrett? Or do you just like to point out his misses?

If the Koetter story is true, do we hire Smitty in some capacity?

I guess we're getting the band back together.

Edited just saw DK hire is true

D-Line coach

with 5 former HC on staff one of them should be able to manage a clock.

Absolutely he deserves credit for Grady.....but he sure has plenty of pundits out there that’s convinced he’s not very good with the trenches. So yeah cheers to Grady - one in 12 yrs

Takk, Senat, Jake, Vic to some extent, Schraeder (great for a few years as an UDFA), signed Mack. Idk man, seems like TD is pretty middle of the road decent when it comes to the trenches. More will come this offseason.

Those cats ain’t much to brag about over a 12 year period....other than Jake Mack maybe schraeder ...Bs is nearing bust. I just hope we acquire better talent in that area....it’s whats holding us back. Pass rush has really suffered under TDs leadership.

Just an fyi, TD hasn't been with the Falcons for 12 years. He has 10 drafts under his belt having joined in 2008. But I get your point.

Yes I was exaggerating....this will be his 11 draft.

Certainly arguable it hasn't been great over TD's tenure, but after Pioli came in to assist, it's gotten better. Was garbage before that. Those guys were all in the last 5 drafts.

Generally speaking, if we drafted OL/DL in the first 3 rounds, they've been good, with a couple scattered gems and roleplayers thereafter. Haven't went all in on the lines in a draft yet...if we do this year, I have faith we'll get some good players.

BS. It’s been well documented that DQ signed off on picks and FA signings.

And Levitre before injury issues was a great add.

The whiffs were Soliai, Jackson, Edwards and Asamoah in FA. Jury still out on Fusco. Definitely not terrible compared to the rest of the league. Not great either.

Most definitely a bad period. Since DQ, the GM/HC player acquisition has been pretty good

I was just about to make a post similar yours. That list isn’t impressive considering how long Dimitroff has been the GM.

Even with Pioli involved, the hit rate isn’t good enough for a team with SB aspirations.

If the Falcons win a super bowl with these guys, I will be willing to bet they will be looking to become HC somewhere.  At least one of them.

Overall? Or in the trenches? I can agree with the latter, but TD’s hit rate is incredibly high when you consider every position. You can gripe all you want about where our assets are allocated, but TD has selected and signed some incredibly good players, hence the SB aspirations...

I’m only talking about the trenches.

sure he signed off...so if DQ is the deciding factor what use is TD? My point is/was TD has been here 12 yrs and the trenches are and have been pretty much a mess since he got here. That's just the facts....and that's well documented....just ask around.

oh yeah...Mike Smith signed off as well, so is it always the HC to hold accountable for the GMs drafting, FA, player acquisitions? Just saying.....

I don't understand why folks get so defensive when someone mentions TD failing to be successful with the OL DLs. I'm not saying run the guy out of town...I'm just saying hire an expert guru to evaluate trench talent. Like it or not, that's been TD's biggest fault...hard to defend him in this area.  He has been good in other areas, but he has not been great in providing depth.

2

Pioli is the best addition the Falcons have made since MR2.

I'm not too impressed with TDs drafting of linemen in the first 3 rds when I think about Sam Baker '08 -not very good, Lamar Holmes '12 - awful, Peter Knoz '12 flat out bust and you can add Beasley to that list as far as I'm concerned....he has to be considered a failure based on where he was drafted 8th overall.

Like you said....maybe when we go all in on the lines he'll finally get it right

Funny, few years ago Falcons were stocking up on former GMs - McKay, Pioli, Devaney, Emery and Webster.
