Spts1
I think they will get more value if they move him permanently to linebacker. Thought on that? Edited January 7, 2019 by slickgadawg
KRUNKuno
I feel like they tried this in 2017
DD: Objective Elite
I'd prefer we just moved on.

AllStarHandyMan
I say if we used him more as a blitzing linebacker it could work out. Playing as a full time linebacker i dont know...covering rb not very good. TE he might can do ok
MAD597
Yea that didn't work either. Someone needs to teach him a **** spin move, all the OL has to do is move him past the QB cause Vic never spins to the inside.

Falcons_Frenzy
If the Falcons let him go then watch the Patriots or Steelers will sign him and he will develop.
Jesus
Let's get rid of Manuel, and see what Quinn has up his sleeve.

I remember his first two years he'd try spins all the time in an embarrassing way, then he learned to time it with Freeney. Since then, havent seen **** one attempt at a spin, swim or RIP, just terrible edge rush every time.
ZoneOne01
It didn’t work out when they tried. In fact, I remember people on here saying the reason Beasley wasn’t more impactful in 2017 was because he was too busy playing linebacker. He’s just not that that good. Kaptain Krazy
Move him to a 3-4 D, it's his best chance for success. i.e., somewhere else

No counter move, no spin move, no violent hands. Watching the edge rushers over the wild card weekend makes me think Beasley is a lost cause. What drives me nuts is that's so predictable, if he just countered inside even 10% of the time, those moves would almost always be sacks bc linemen know they just have to guide him out of the play. 1989Fan
He actually played decent last 4-5 games, let’s see if Q really is the DL whisperer...as long as we aren’t taking a $12M cap hit to do it.
JDaveG
Yeah, I'm sort of at the "he should be in a 3-4 and isn't really going to cut it in a 4-3" spot myself. He should be a prototypical LEO, but apparently they don't like him there for whatever reason, and he can't seem to rush from the other side, so...... TheUsualStuff
What a terrible idea. It's been tried and it failed. They still had him dropping back into coverage early this season after supposedly moving him back to DE full time, and he looked completely lost. He's a one trick pony DE, and he and any team that wants to utilize him has to treat him that way.

It was the line as a UNIT that made him good in college. You put him in a 3-4 and utilize overload blitzes and he would florish...

"Falcons coach Dan Quinn told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution after his season-ending news conference Thursday that the third-year player will move from linebacker. “I have re-assessed it,” Quinn said. “He played six games at linebacker and two injured. I’m going to put him full-time, all-the-time back at pass rusher. I thought it was best for the team even though some of his production would go down. “His best role is doing what he does. He won’t go back to linebacker.”
