marvinthemartian
Matt Ryan has earned and deserves to have substantial input into this decision. If Matt has a strong preference for someone, unless there is a clear reason otherwise, then that person ought to be given serious, priority preference. My preference is Gary Kubiak but I trust Matt’s judgement on this much more than I trust my own. If Matt wants Bevell, Koetter or anyone else over who I want then I would clearly defer to his judgement. I just hope he gets that level of input in the decision. Matt is a coach on the field much more than most other quarterbacks are. I think he has earned and deserves this input and the front office would be smart to give it to him. I hope they do. I realize that having employees choose their supervisors is often not a good way to do things but I think in this situation, it would be the best way to handle it. Whoever it is, if Matt is ok with it and had input then I’m ok with it too.
Monolith2001
The only thing that matters is results. I stopped really caring who is in charge and care about what gets done. Fine with whomever as long as we get results...no more excuses...1st year coordinator/learning the system and all that...I don't care. Wins and playoffs. marvinthemartian
I think Matt knows best who he can work with the best and maximize his skills and those of his teammates.

etherdome
Dan Quinn's neck is exposed. He had better be the one and only guy making the Coordinator decisions. Despite the wretched season, I don't want to see a limp biscuit at the helm.

I agree but he needs to be smart enough to lean heavily on Matt’s input.

Just get him a solid Oline that we can sustain a couple years. No more Dimi Olines please. And a coach to coach em up. There's gotta be somebody out there like Gibbs. A Yoda coach. FalconJim
Yes, the new OC should be someone Matt is completely comfortable with, and a guy that would be open to his input and suggestions, but challenge him to be his best! Nobody knows this team like Ryan does, and what works, and what doesn't. I just hope we don't rush into filling the OC position --- maybe, wait until after the Super Bowl and see who's available then. Of course, if we do that, we may miss out on someone we originally wanted.....a Catch 22 ---

HEIST
I guess? I don't think Matt would've chosen Shanny, but that offense unlocked a new level for Matt. It's good to be uncomfortable sometimes. Just get a creative mind.

FalconFanSince1970
Seen every NFL player. Ice Ryan can run any offense. Mularkey smash mouth, Kutty Pass happiness, Shanny zone breaker, Sark what are we doing, whatever. Pretty much any OC and he'll be ready to go when OTAs roll around. Trust me. Needs to go back to that California camp again though.
Ergo Proxy
The biggest joke would be Smitty as DC and Koetter as OC; with Petrino back as a STs coach. Let's GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.... to ****.
HotLantaFalcon
Yeah it's DQs decision and if he doesn't hit on this hire it's his job on the line this time next year
Falcanuck
Anybody but Bevell if you ask me. Just don’t hire your buddies anymore, Quinn.
IndiscreetGeek
Having said this, I wonder if #2 had any input on Sark's departure.
Ergo Proxy
My gut tells me Ryan wants nothing to do with having to call plays. Give him the book, you call the plays and let him have some control at the line. He seems to do better when given the blueprint and told to execute it at the highest level instead of evaluating his blueprint designer. Maybe he can give valuable insight to a guy once here, but he'd have to know each guys mind and basically do the work Quinn and staff should be doing. Ergo Proxy
Was it Quinn's D that destroyed the Broncos in the SB? Was Kubiak calling the plays then? Yeah, that was a good game for D with those weather conditions but still! Quinn probably would want Kubiak more and Bevell is a plan B or C. Knight of God
Well, I’m not interested in spending my personal time watching Koetter. I’d take Bevell first. Since I’m not excited to spend my time watching Bevell, that’s just it. Both would be a waste of time.
