Two Grady Jarrett's sounds incredible to me. I don't mind any DT as long as their best quality isn't their weight.

True. I should know more about Brown, but I haven't focused on him yet. Maybe that's more of a "check all the boxes" pick  than guys who are more of a specialist?

Yes but its a difference between getting a Good OL/DL and another gazillionth WR cause thats all thats left.

Now this is something we can agree on but were still in the top 15 thats a big difference from say 27th or so.  The fact we all know what this draft looks like and how deep the D-line is along with some good LB's, CB's, and even a OL or 2 in the 1st 15 picks we should be alright.   At the late 20's then i would be worried about having to settle for something we don't need or couldn't use as much.  At 14 in this draft it doesn't really phase me much because i know what all players of the players that could fall there are and im pretty pleased with most of them.  Some i like even more than alot of the players people want at 5 to 7 i've seen.

Just looking up recent drafts, it seems like the 14th overall pick hasn’t done so well. Hopefully we can go against that trend.

On a positive note, this year doesn't have elite QB prospects, but mid first could be where teams try to slide up for a guy they like. Might get us more picks, or even a 2020 #1?

I thought it was 16 based on us sweeping Carolina who was at 15 and beat Washington who was at 16.

Nah. Seeding is based on strength of schedule, IIRC. Head to head only matters for the playoffs.

No, if he’s there at pick #14 take him. Simmons is a better prospect than Mixon and not to mention Mixon did his incident in college while Simmons did his prior.

and before you reply with “what does it matter?” ...Simmons has had time or a chance to show his character where as Mixon was kicked off the team and his next appearance or step was trying to go to league.

LOL Wasn’t going to say that actually. I’m all about nuance and circumstance. Teams may opt to pass on him because of his history. If he’s as good as people are saying he is, then he’ll be gone before the 14th pick, so the point is moot.

There are still potential game breaking DL at this spot - also it was not steriods that he took it was a BS recovery drug that is not even a big deal and are having them appealed by NCAA - Ostarine is prevalent in many supplements although technically illegal it is put in supplements illegally technically but never listed or included - clever marketing and product, not uncommon at all - two other players had it as well - not sure he drops a ton, I would think if we wanted him, we would have a strong chance to get him here.

Since we are all in agreement the top pick is likely going to be an interior DL, what about round 2? Thoughts or suggestions?

I'd love that wide body on our line for several years, but I seriously doubt we'd risk that with a high first rounder.

I think round two is a tossup and is going to depend on FA - I still dont think we draft OL talent in first two places, they take too long to develop and are becoming worse by the year - although this past draft did produce some decent ones after 4 previous years did not do as well for Ol in top 2 rounds.  Id either say edge rusher or another corner if we drop ALford or TRU again the cap will come into play there with FA and all but thats my guess

Greg Little for RT... to be honest this is going to be one of those unsexy drafts... with the exception of a CB in around the 3rd, every thing else should be in the trenches... PS... DT MUST BE OVER 300LBS

I'm banging the table for us to take a flyer on Danny Shelton... loved him coming out his draft year and if he scratches even the surface of his potential would be exactly what we need next to Grady

OL for sure. There are several good players that could be there.

OG Dalton Risner, Kansas State

OG Chris Lindstrom, Boston College

OG Michael Deiter, Wisconsin

OG Garrett Brumfield, LSU

C Tyler Biadasz, Wisconsin

C Garrett Bradbury, NC State

C Elgton Jenkins, Miss State

OT Jawaan Taylor, Florida

OT Cody Ford, Oklahoma

OT Nate Davis, Charlotte

OT Yodney Cajuste, West Virginia

OT David Edwards, Wisconsin

TE is really deep as is RB, so I hope we grab one of each rounds 4-5.

That's a list! Wouldn't mind grabbing a guard, for sure. Especially one who has center ability for insurance. Just as long as we cross any and all Wisconsin guys off our list lol.

Haha yeah the Konz pick still hurts. There have been some good Wisconsin linemen though. Frederick, Ramczyk, Zeitler, Wagner, Havenstein.

I’d love to get a couple of those guys though. Schraeder and RG have been terrible for us.

Well that's not true. This isn't the NBA where a draft has 3 elite players. The only NBA-like aspect of the NFL draft is the QB prospects and how quickly that talent pool depletes.

I would love for us to have a shot at any of those guys you listed though.

Obviously people don't watch the NBA like that apparently. Manu Ginobli and Jimmy Bulter would like a couple words with you, but all that said this isn't directed at you, but others more so I was for tanking because it gave us "options" I think back to all the wheeling and dealing done by other teams like STL biggest name comes to mind with the infamous RG3 trade.

They are the exception, not the rule.

Fair enough, but other point still remains I'd much rather have options to trade back if possible having a Top 3 pick, but hey we're 7-9 forum no actual reason than to be 7-9
