Hey, FFS70, guess these boys are too young to remember that the 1998 turn around happened at the end of the 1997 season. Know those tankers were crying about the Falcons going from 1-7 to 7-9 that year too. But it set the stage for what happened in 1998.

Bro we caught fire at the end of 1977, 1979, 1990, 1997, 2003 and 2015 and went to the playoffs the following year. We won at least one playoff game in each of those seasons, went to three NFCCGs and two Super Bowls. We could have tanked but didn't. Momentum is real.

And what happened to the season after that?  O yeah a 5-11 record.  Every season is different to each and of it's own.  Momentum is a false narrative

And it’s a word to describe playing at a meaningfully higher level AS A TEAM. This “meh doesn’t matter and at least we have a draft pick a few spots worth higher” would absolutely kill hope next year because you banking everything on ANOTHER MAN carrying your ***.

For example, Ryan may not have been among the few to carry the team enough to the playoffs THIS year, but he sure as **** gave us hope for this year when it was still possible and we can still project for next year.

NFL is more about mentality than the few that are generational talents.

When you sacrifice foundation of what it takes to improve at your details; instead of pointing at your OL...you’d really be without hope always wishing the draft turned out better because your present roster each year would be full of half-effort players.

Colts and Andrew Luck would like to have a word

So you mean Peyton Manning missing the entire year cause of neck surgery had nothing to do with them losing? But we dont need a QB so that doesn't help your theory. But I will agree getting a franchise QB is worth tanking for. Just better hope he isn't Jamarcus Russell

When your entire offense is built around 1 guy and he gets hurt in the 2nd game of the season of course you're gonna have a hard time winning games. We have no idea what could have happened in 1999 if Jamal hadn't gotten hurt.

When you're on the wrong side of momentum it seems like nothing can go right for you during the game

The worst is when you're on the wrong side of a terrible call. It's so hard to flip the switch back the other way, especially if your on the road against a good team in a hostile environment.

To answer the question, Jeffrey Simmons, Derrick Brown, or Ed Oliver (if he really does fall). Josh Allen or Devin White would also be exciting. Plenty of D talent in this draft.

That dude is no joke. Would immediately solidify our interior run defense and help keep Debo clean. I like Jeffrey Simmons slightly more right now but haven't really started digging into the tape. I also totally get it if Simmons isn't on our board.

I’m smart enough to know tanking is a losers mentality.

Yes and that's the tradition and heritage of this franchise it lost 2x this season. Once when it somehow mucked up making the playoffs with the "most talented roster ever," and once again we mucked up a top 5 pick and a chance at a probowl talent.
