Everyone said Roberts sucked. This message board sweared that he was a terrible returner despite the great return numbers he posted in Arizona and Detroit and now has with the Jets. Those of us that said he was good was badly ridiculed.

Only thing that sucked are the people "coaching him"

The thing is tho, he was bad with us.  He would constantly let the ball go backwards on punts and get us pinned deep.  On kick offs a lot of the times we would be behind the 25 yard line.  You can't just wash away his performance with us because he did better else where.

He was absolutely horrible with us.

The fact that we've had how many different punt returners under Keith Armstrong and the letting balls bounce and getting pinned deep has been an issue with all of them should tell that they're being coached to do that.

Fire Armstrong

mend of story. He sux bad.  Time to move on from his suckage.

Everyone keeps talking about Sark and Manuel. Matt has been through too many OCs already, and DQ can manage Manuel. Armstrong however, only has a job because his FG kicker and bad *** head hunting tackling machine punter have saved his butt repeatedly.

*Someone* has to be held accountable. It should be Armstrong. Our coverage and return teams have been crap for years. We have no recognition of talent. Before Roberts it was McKissic. We are LOSING GAMES because of field position. And this is directly Armstrong's fault.

This is the whole problem with Roberts - he had been a good returner before he arrived in Atlanta but then appeared terrible in Atlanta - was he slacking? was it the coaching (Bethel is a pro-bowl alternate this year?)? was he injured or have personal problems? was he just taking a year off? maybe now he realizes that he is not going to get paid unless he puts some effort in?

The Andre Roberts in Atlanta was not the Andre Roberts elsewhere.

Shrugs... if anything... His good year insures we are getting a 4th and 5th round pick so I'm good

We do need to attempt to draft a guy that can return kicks and punts tho

The straw that broke the camel's back was yesterday. J. Hardy had about 15 yards of space before the nearest defender. He caught the ball...hesitated and finally made a move to get 4 yards.  Just Wow!

Remember what I told yall about roberts? Everyone flamed me for saying Roberts was really good, and Armstrong was the problem.

Roberts might've been really good elsewhere but he sucked donkeys here.

He was very good here too, he had many long runs wiped out by stupid holding penalties. I think catching the ball deep in our territory is something that is schemed and most teams do it to avoid a turnover or a worse field position.
