A quick 4 round mock - Led by Miss St. player's

6 posts in this topic

My #1 FA acquisition

DE/DT Muhammad Wilkerson

https://boards.atlantafalcons.com/topic/4067039-my-1-fa-acquistion-for-2019-dedt-muhammad-wilkerson/

Draft: I like Oliver and Williams but I think both would be gone so I went with the next best thing.

Round 1*** - DT Jeffery Simmons, Miss St. (***The FO might be scared to take him high due to the incident back in the day, but with a trade back for an additional pick they may feel more comfortable)

https://boards.atlantafalcons.com/topic/4066298-jeffery-simmons-behind-the-line/

Round 2 - C/OG Elgton Jenkins a.k.a. Big_E, Miss St. (Takes over as the RG until Mack retires and then moves to C)

https://boards.atlantafalcons.com/topic/4066271-mississippi-states-elgton-jenkins-from-overlooked-to-elite/

Round 2*** - LB Germaine Pratt, NC St. (***As the result of a trade back in the 1st. Had to get Pratt here so I could get the sleeper in the 3rd. Pratt would be a welcome addition to the LB core especially with Campbell being a FA in 2020.)

https://boards.atlantafalcons.com/topic/4065862-nc-state-linebacker-germaine-pratt/

Round 3 - OT Tytus Howard, Alabama St. (The sleeper. There are some early Terron Armstead comparison being thrown out. If that's the case we could use a RT with LT feet)

https://boards.atlantafalcons.com/topic/4067080-ot-tytus-howard-alabama-state-terron-armstead-comp/

Round 4 - DB Jamal Peters, Miss St. (Yes another Miss St. player, and no I'm not a Miss St. fan. A big physical corner that loves to press. I can see a future with him and I.O.)

https://boards.atlantafalcons.com/topic/4067032-db-jamal-peters/

*** Not sure if we'll get a 4th round compensatory pick so I stopped at round 4. The next pick would be dedicated to DE.

Recap and summary of the D-line, LB and O-line.

Base D-line: Wilkerson (5T) - Jarrett/Senat (1T) - Simmons/Jarrett (3T) - McKinley (Leo)

Nickel D-line: Beasley/Rookie DE (LE) - Crawford/Wilkerson (DT) - Jarrett/Simmons (DT) - McKinley/Rookie DE (RE)

D-line reserves: Beasley, Senat, Crawford, Rookie DE

Base LB: Campbell (SLB) - Jones (MLB) - Oluokun/Pratt (WLB)

Nickel LB: Campbell/Pratt - Jones

LB Reserves: Pratt, Ish/Carter/another rookie LB and Riley (as ST only)

and before I get to the O-line maybe I'm the only one but when Levitre is not injured we can run the ball to the left. I'll try to resign him for the minimum since he has back to back years with injuries. Schraeder is listed below but would be TC cut if everything works out with Howard. If not, he makes the team with a contract restructure. Can't start two rookies side by side. Schraeder is a better run blocker so if we can run the ball, some of the pressure would be taken off of him.

O-Line: Matthews (LT) - Levitre (LG) - Mack (C) - Jenkins (RG) - Schraeder (RT)

O-line reserves: Schweitzer (OG), Howard (OT), Gono (OT), a veteran (OG/OT)

Nice job.  Simmons might be the best interior defensive lineman in the draft.  Jenkins is an athletic mauler who can take over at center eventually.

Don't know much about Pratt and Howard.  Would love to grab Terry Beckner Jr after the first round.  Trade for extra second maybe.
