That’s what the NFL wants

No they don't. There's a reason NFL coaches have been hired to coach these teams. There's a reason NFL folks are managing this league. It's because this is supposed to be a developmental league to the NFL. It's why they're playing their games in the spring.

You mean former NFL coaches. No current coach is coaching.

Of course it's former coaches. A current NFL coach can't coach two different teams at once dude. But my point still stands, this is being made as an NFL developmental league. It's not a "rival" league that is attempting to steal fans away from the NFL.

Not yet. It could eventually become like NFL Europe, but no practice squad members are on teams. It’s all former nfl players or college guys they never got picked up. If that’s the case the XFL was a developmental league. Tommy Maddox and He Hate Me both were signed after that season

Do you understand what DEVELOPMENTAL means? Of course it's guys that didn't make it in the NFL or guys that haven't gotten a chance in the NFL yet. That's the point. To give these players a longer more extended shot at receiving NFL coaching and playing in NFL style games in hopes of an NFL team picking them up. That's why it's all coaches with NFL ties coaching the teams. So the players receive NFL coaching. It's another knock against how pointless and meaningless NFL preseason games are, because it's not played like real football so you have guys that light it up in preseason and can't do it in real games.

There's a reason former NFL players like Jared Allen have put their own money into starting up this league. It's because they want it to succeed where NFL Europe failed. NFL Europe failed mainly because it was in Europe and folks over there for the main part don't care about American football. American's care about American football and therefore this league has a much better chance at success than the NFL.

And no, the XFL cannot be considered a developmental league because the folks running it were looking for direct competition against the NFL to steal fans away from the NFL. Folks that are running the AAF aren't doing it to counteract the NFL. This is not the XFL or the USFL. This league is like minor league baseball. That's the way it's being done.

Yeah I think this AAFL is the feeder league to the NFL for players while the XFL will most likely be direct competition to it which I doubt it will work again. lol maybe the XFL will become a feeder league of sorts its self for kids who couldn't go to college or something.

Exactly.  The teams even have protected territory teams with the colleges.  Its set up like yiu said as a development al league AND a investment by the principles involved...

Vick out as offensive coordinator.  Two things:  Vick was one of the only reasons I wanted to watch the games.  Wanted to see his play calling ability.  Next, how can you take a league serious that loses its head coach and offensive coordinator within 2 months of the opening game?

The aaf is a minor league, players and coaches will come and go. Only one team lost their head coach and it was us. No idea why Childress left and it was clear he was going to be running the offense anyways and Vick was used to learn the ropes and name recognition for the league. Also Vick still with the team.

Negative. I don't know why you guys keep calling this a minor league or developmental league. These players can play in the NFL, and some have. The NFL has hardly anything to do with talent. They don't oppose the league because they play in the spring, and don't feel the competitive revenue. Now as the support for the AAF and XFL grows, maybe star NFL players will decide to play for one of the for less. This is not farfetched.

Because it is a minor league. It's just not officially announced.
