Plus a Coach that can bring out the beast in each player on the roster. Let that be the Atlanta Falcons! Santa is going to be bringing you plenty of Saints merchandise this Christmas for being a good boy. It’d be much easier than pulling off that big of a miracle for the Falcons. 1 hour ago, OldHippy said: We'll all getting Drew Brees jerseys for Christmas... Santa be that way sometimes! I certainly can use a Color Rush jersey, still haven’t gotten one of those yet. Edited November 28, 2018 by Iron Saint

Last week this team came out flat against their biggest rival, which pizzed me off more than any one game this season. So, what i want to see is this team turn their season around, play as hard and smart as they can and just let the chips fall where they may. I did not see any of that last Thursday. Maybe a singe pressure on the opponent's QB or a block from Ryan Schraeder, but i don't think Santa has the ability to fulfill this wish. Trufant has hands smaller than an elementary school kid. I remember those combine measurements and his teeny-tiny hands. He was terrible plucking INTS in college and pros as well. This will never improve much - after 5yrs in the league - it is what it is. Nice hoody but aren’t we getting a little old for hoodies, V? YES, Falcons need to rebuild offensive line and that is a top priority but... More than anything, Falcons need a franchise type defender - we have talent on defense like Grady, Debo, Takk, Keanu, etc. - all really good players - really good! None are Khalil Mack, Aaron Donald, JJ Watt, Von Miller, etc. I know those guys don’t grow on trees but Falcons need to find one. Wish we would have been a player when Mack was on trading block. Raiders probably thought they were getting a Top 5 pick this year and now Bears will likely win division and make playoffs.

Here's a little advice for you, my 'younger' friend. Age is a matter of perspective, you'll be older if you act old at 45 than I am at 62. I'm still traveling around the country with what some would say is a grueling schedule of 50 hour work- weeks, wear stylish clothes, run marathons, listen to whatever current music is in vogue, and chase my bride around the house a few times a week. And yes, even wear a falcon hoodie to bar or games whenever I can go. Part of that I'm sure is is because my 4 girls (bride + 3 daughters) refuse to let me become an old man, for which I'm grateful. Tanking is never an option. If you do that, it creeps into the team/company culture. Cleveland Browns 'tanked' for nearly two decades, look at what that did for them. During that time, they drafted Gerald Warren at 3, Danny Shelton at 12, Bark Mingo at 6, etc etc...and everyone in nfl including I bet you thought they were getting a "franchise defender". No guarantees. Yes, we need DL in a bad way, as well as OL. But if 'tanking' is the way to get there, I'll take a hard pass. I'd rather my team keep playing hard and draft Dexter Lawrence/Christian Wilkins at 12-15 range than tank and get Quinn Williams/Ed Oliver or whomever at 4-6. I believe Aaron Donald wasn't a Top 10 pick, so there you go. But that's just how I roll. Selah.

I believe Aaron Donald wasn't a Top 10 pick, so there you go. But that's just how I roll. Selah. I will tell you the exact same thing I told FFS1970 - the team never tries to tank. As a fan, I lose interest once the current season has gone so bad that playoffs are an impossibility - As a fan, I can hope we lose and it doesn't make me less a fan than you, FFS1970 or anyone else. While mathematically there might still be a 3% chance for Falcons to make the playoffs - you and I both know this season is done. How can we get better? Better personnel. YES, JJ Watt was taken outside the top 10 as well as Aaron Donald - having said that, the higher your pick, the more you get to choose from. As a messageboard member, you may notice you haven't seen me much lately. I am both a Falcons fan (for life, I will never have another team) and a Dawgs fan as well as UGA alum. Right now, it's just more fun to be a Dawgs fan and I am putting more of my time, interest and emotion there. When Falcons offseason comes and there can actually be improvements to the team as well as getting healthy players back - I will be around more. This doesn't make me "fair weather" as I would argue it is hard to have a 40,000+ post count and be considered fair weather - but I am not going to wallow in this pathetic season - YES, I know a huge part of our demise this season was season-ending injuries to 5 starters and 3 key defensive starters basically before the season got going. Nevertheless, life is too short to be miserable and this season is drowning in misery at this point. That is how I roll - Selah to you as well, my friend. That is not something we'll ever live down, like 28-3 never live down stuff. Which of course means it's almost a 100-percent certainty to happen. MBS will become known as Saints second home. Gold4425
I want a change of attitude from the FO. We can keep the fast and physical but add some beef on both sides of the ball. Be open to move some underperforming players. And to never sit on our hands again and assume everything is going to be alright

While the ZBS is really good between the 20's, if executed properly like 2016, once you get inside the RZ, it doesn't work as well. Further, ZBS blockers are lighter and tend to have more difficulty anchoring in the passing game. I believe GM's and HC's can fall in love w/ ZBS because it allows you to not take offfensive linemen early in the draft - but you get what you invest/pay for and I think we can all agree that for most of the Matt Ryan era, he has had less than stellar pass protection - even w/ not getting sacked a lot, he was throwing the ball away a lot. If we have to change offensive systems, so be it. I am tired of the ZBS that we have had under two different coaching stafffs - tired off not investing in OL - and mostly - tired of the inferior results.
