Spts1
The Falcons have a franchise quarterback. MVP caliber, elite caliber and sometimes very good caliber. Matt has been putting up TONS of yardage and completions. I looked back at the stats and he hasn't thrown for less than 4,000 yards in a year since 2010 and he is on pace for his fifth 400 completion year thus far. At this rate he will break Marino's record for completions if he averages 362 completions for the next 3 years and he will break Marino's passing yardage totals if he passes for 4735 yards a year in 3 years or 3551 yards if he averages that for the next 4 years. If the Falcons don't win a Superbowl within 3 or 4 years these dubious records will be set and Marino's legacy will be replaced with Matt Ryan's. Its a hard fact but its there... ****. I just checked. He could break Marino's touchdown record in 6 more years... Edited November 12, 2018 by slickgadawg
NCFalconfan
Ryan and Julio are going to need a good chiropractor when they hang up their cleats from carrying this organization for YEARS. Just imagine the win total for a second if the offense was a mid pack offense. Welcome to mid to late 80's Falcons football win totals. Get this guy a real head coach to fix the utter crap show on defense and do it quick.
FalconsIn2012
The Iceman has been supported with a defense that has blown the largest lead in NFC Divisional round history (20 points), Conference Championship history (17 points) & Super Bowl history (25 points). If HD doesn’t trip over the 30 yard line in 2012 and his coaches run the ball up 28-3, Ryan would have 2 rings and be a lock for 1st ballot HOF. I still love this game recap on the Douglas trip: ”Ryan, scrambling, finds Harry Douglas behind his man on the right side wide open for a sure TD. But as the pass hangs in the air, Douglas trips over Manti Te’o’s girlfriend and falls as he makes the catch. He does this right in front of the 49ers coaches, who scream that the ball hit the turf. Harbough whines with his o-so punchable face... They challenge. Waiting ….” Edited November 12, 2018 by Falconsin2012
mqg96
Until the Falcons can put together an elite top 5 to top 10 defense while Matt Ryan is still healthy with the Falcons, we will never win a Super Bowl title with him, period. We can never have a defense whenever our offense is hot, including this year. Aaron Rodgers has only had a top 10 defense 2 times his entire career, and the one time he had a top 5 defense was the only year he won a Super Bowl. As great as Tom Brady is, he's had more top 10 defenses throughout his career than not having one at all. I hate the Saints, but the reason Drew Brees is underappreciated by other NFL fans compared to other great QB's is because the Saints could never have a defense throughout their 7-9 campaigns until last year and especially this year. Offense wins games, but defense wins championships and it's a full team sport. Look at the Eagles last year, they win the Super Bowl with 35% of the active QB's in the NFL right now, whether it was Carson Wentz or Nick Foles that was their year, because they had a special team that was complete on both sides. Rant over. Edited November 12, 2018 by mqg96
E. T.
The perfect comparisons....Marino and Ryan! Both were surrounded by elite talent on offense, both had a pile of stinky shyyt for defenses.

This might be the most mind blowing stat I've ever read.

No telling if we’d win, but at least Matt would have a chance at 3 total rings during his time here. Unfortunately, we’re left with none. That’s just how this league works.
