Eagles being trolled at our expense.

The Falcons are synonymous with blowing leads.  This is the lasting legacy of the Falcons.

"The Eagles sure Falconed that one"

It's even in the Urban dictionary.

The act of blowing a great opportunity in tremendous fashion, like the AtlantaFalcons blew a 25-point second half lead against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 51. The Falcons have other incidents of tragic missteps in their franchise history, unique to any other pro sports entity.
"That girl you was with looked like she wanted you. What happened?"
"Bruh, I told her that her roommate looked good and she kicked me out of her apartment."
"Oh ****! You were outchea Falconing."

Can confirm that I use this term, and "pulling a Falcon", in my daily life

Same here. My brother (Saints fan) called me, but I told him it was too soon. He said, naw we got this. Then....BOOM!!

Yup. I was a gigantic pile of nerves at 28-12 and my roommate was like, "Calm down, you're GOING to win."

I told her she doesn't know the Falcons.

And honest to God, a play later was the strip sack, the beginning of the end.

This hurts the worst...you can just see the life drift away from the Falcons...

As soon as all my friends started texting me congratulating me on the SB win, I knew the Falcons were about to lose.

My boss called me at halftime and said "Your boys got this, guessing I won't see you tomorrow."  I told him, "As long as Brady is across the field, I worry. I won't start celebrating until there's 2 minutes left, 20 point lead, and New England has no time outs left."

I was right...

Same here. My wife told me congrats  at 28-3 they/I finally got our SB.  I SAID NO! Don't say that, I said if we made it 31-3 then yes, but not 28-3. As it turns out I was right.

Amazingly I have an almost identical story....

I yelled something along the lines of "WHAT THE &%#$ ARE WE DOING??!??!" when it was 28-9 and my wife told me to be quiet because it was over.

I knew then it was over... for us.

For me it was the moment  Coleman hurt his ankle.  I could feel 'The Falconing' about to begin.

I told my wife, "We're in trouble".

She said, "You're crazy...it's 28-12!"

I just said, "Watch".

I wasn't worried until they got the 2nd two point conversion and tied the game. THAT'S when I knew it was a wrap for us..

That is funny, then I stop laughing when I realize why we're laughing

We are the kid on the playground that laughs at all the jokes the bullies are making at our expense because we don't know what else to do. If we laugh, it's like we are in on it to and it's so pathetic but what else can you do?

I had my Buccs friend over for the SB, and he thought we had it. I was like no, you don't know bro we know how to blow games and sure thing we go ahead and pull the mother of all things falcon.

Mark Twain's quote about three kinds of lies....lies, d*mn lies, and statistics, applies to this chart.

In my heart I knew the Falcons were going to lose this game when the Patriots tried an unsuccessful onside kick down 28-9, then the Falcons picked up 9 yards on first down, then Matthews got called for holding and they didn't even manage a FG.

It was at that moment I said "Oh....here we go again.

the second free missed that block was it for me....

YUP. Until then, I actually still felt pretty good. We all get so focused on 28-3 (when there was still over a full quarter left) that I think we forget it was 28-12 with ONLY HALF A QUARTER LEFT TO PLAY. Half a quarter, and they needed two touchdowns and two two-point conversions. UGHHHHHHH.

Freeman picks up that block, and it probably IS over, even if the pass fell incomplete (it was certainly over if completed for the touchdown). But that strip sack gave Brady the short field and the momentum he needed, and he never looked back.

I knew we were in big trouble with that fumble. I had one more moment - the Julio miracle catch - where I was once again certain we'd won - "Oh thank god, we salvaged it." But as soon as THAT series went to ****, I knew for certain we were done. The Pats' own miracle catch on the next series didn't surprise me a bit. Nothing after that surprised me a bit. We were done.

I knew we were in trouble when the Pats kicked the 1st fg for 3. We were seriously kicking them in the balls for an ENTIRE HALF, shutting them out and then once they started moving the ball successfully I just knew it was about to get ugly.

Yeah, for me too. I knew we was in trouble when Brady stopped crying and started to look pissed.
