Snap Counts and Random Observations from Tampa Game

18 posts in this topic

Here are the Snap counts from Tampa...…...with some random observations.

First, we continue to make better use of the TE......even though the Riddler's injury clearly contributed, we saw Hooper in on 81% of the offensive snaps and Paulsen in on 55%.  That helps our protection tremendously.

Even Saubert got in for 21%.

Jordan Richards played 98% of the snaps.  Say what you want about his tackling…..His PT allows Poole to be Poole and stay at Nickle back......Happy to say the Poole at SS experiment appears to be over and the defense is better for it.

Takk McKiney was in for 77% and Foy outsnapped Riley....but Bruce Carter is the man that draws my attention……...He had THREE tackles on Defense while playing  only 12 Defensive Snaps Sunday.  He should be playing more.

Also...like Peyton said in another post:  it was nice to see Ismael finally getting worked into the mix on this defense.  That was a nice stuff he made down there inside the 5.  Carter and Ishmael got about 20 snaps that would have normally gone to Riley, think this is smart of the staff, even if it is a little late.

Isaiah Oliver was mercifully banished to the bench (another byproduct of playing Richards)  and Sharrod Neasman debuted on special teams…….

All in all, I like they way the staff allotted the playing time...……...I still think we play too much Nickle but that topic is for another thread.

I also noticed Kazee carried the green dot this week instead of Campbell.  I know Campbell had it a couple of weeks ago, but I'm pretty sure this was the first week Kazee had it.

Also looked like they did a much better job getting lined up.  Could have been a product of less motion and shifting from TB's offense though.

Campbell's play has been bad lately. Not up to his standards.

He's close on a lot of plays and just misses.  He is a bit out of sorts right now for sure.

I agree I was pleasantly surprised by Carter he needs more playing time. No one mentions the key catch by Gage, he has speed we may need him down the road. Ishmael needs to be out there. I know Poole has had some poor plays this year but DQ had him out of position when he got in his true position he plays hard and tough. Hey wasn't Saubert kept for his speed? I keep waiting for him

to long

Would be nice to see Ishmael take Foye or Richards Jobs. I just don't understand how he isn't playing considering our lack of talent.

Ish made a nice tackle on goal line play yesterday.

Oluokon's poor angles are really starting to make my eyes hurt, IMO he should be starting besides Campbell.

He’s playing like a 6th round rookie. He’s this season’s falcons version of Joplo Bartu. And that’s not a good thing.

He did get more snaps than Riley, 40 to 28. That could be significant, anyone is a faster learner than #42. Maybe they see something in him.

Yeah they can see he has taken horrible angles for 6 games straight. I don't even know if he is better than Riley honestly.

Olukon can at least tackle

I've said it before -- I love Campbell, but he doesn't have the right personality to wear the green dot.

Which isn't useful if he isn't in position to make the tackle.

Riley is not going to be on this team next season.  Was Oliver active and just didn't play?

Did not play on Defense.  Played two snaps on Special Teams.
