It's happened before just not in MLB I don't think. I know it has in the NBA, maybe not GM but other positions. Lakers GM is Rob Pelinka. He was Kobe Bryant agent during his career. He reportedly has an offer in hand. He is reportedly accepting. Mets giving him a few days to inform his clients and tie up any loose ends at his previous job before he resigns. Once that's clear the Mets will announce. We know his stance on deGrom was sign him long term or trade him now. Itll be interesting to see if he attempts to sign deGrom long term and then starts working the phone if he can't. deGrom reportedly wanted it settled quickly, he was unhappy being in the rumor mill. Unknøwn 13,609
Scott Boras told the media that Harper has already picked his team and the terms are verbally agreed upon. Boras said Harper wants to announce it himself once he can officially do so. It's most likely agent hype. First off it's not legal for anyone besides the Nationals to talk with him. He could have told Boras where he wants to go but he cant have a deal in place yet.

Yankees have a major need now with Didi Gregorius being out and that is where Machado wants to be. They'll get over the whole "playoff antics thing" and pay him. The deal includes incentives for Wainwright based on either starting or relieving. Wainwright is a shell of the guy he once was thanks to a rash of injuries in recent seasons which has seen him make only 30 starts once out of the last 4 seasons including just 8 appearances this year totaling only 40 1/3 IP. Wainwright also hasn't been very effective over the last 4 seasons when he has been healthy enough to pitch compiling an ERA of 4.54 in 390 1/3 IP. He's also surrendered 426 hits in that time good for a FIP of 3.95. Details on Wainwright's deal are out. He'll receive a base salary of $2M with up to $8M in starter incentives and $7M in relief incentives. That's a really good low risk move to see if Wainwright has anything left in the tank. Falconsfan567 35,212
Nationals have picked up LHP Sean Doolittle's option for 2019. He'll earn $6M. Diamondbacks have picked up 1B Paul Goldschmidt's option for 2019. He'll earn $14.5M. White Sox have picked up RHP Nate Jones' option for 2019. He'll earn $4.65M. White Sox have declined RHP James Shields' option for 2019. He'll become a free agent with a $2M buyout. Texas INF Elvis Andrus will not opt out of his contract. He will remain with Texas and earn $15M in 2019. He has another opt out after the 2019 season.
