I would be okay with this plan (to say it lightly). The hard part would be getting a team to take all of Teheran's $11 million I would think.

I feel like back loaded is the opposite of what you would want to do if the Braves were to sign Harper.

Yeah I agree. May rather do it the other way around. That way we will have more room when our guys need new deals.

Harper wouldn't stay here for full 7 years, chances are, we trade him after 5.

A man can dream. I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Would honestly be okay even with only one of Kluber or Harper. Both of them make us an instant WS contender IMO.

**** you I came in here, saw the press release and thought we got Realmuto.

We already have Flowers and McCann, so why do we need Realmuto?

Because Realmuto >>> offensively than those two. Our team needs another offensive threat, and Realmuto provides that. If we get him, I'd like to do a short extension.

It's not going to happen.

Not a big need, unlike pitching.

We currently have Nick Markakis hitting 5th, it's a pretty big need.

Not a big need compared to pitching.

Actually i disagree as pitching is the one thing we actually do have tons of young talent at that we can keep throwing out there until we get a few good ones.  A elite catcher or elite bad in the lineup is something we don't have much of in the pipeline to have more than 1 chance at it.    Im not against getting pitching but im way more worried about us not having a good lineup in a few years than us not having a good pitching staff in a few years just based on what we already have on the way.

We have a better shot at signing Harper, than trade for realmuto.

Braves in 2 years could have this lineup

  • C - William Contreras
  • 1B - Freddie Freeman
  • 2B - Ozzie Albies
  • 3B - Austin RIley
  • SS - Dansby Swanson
  • LF - Ronald Acuna Jr.
  • CF - Ender Inciarte
  • RF - Christian Pache

Which would be scary asf when you look at our pitching prospects coming through

If Contreras, Riley, and Pache all pan out... it's over lol
