I think my favorite part about the playoffs are seeing pitchers like Chris Sale coming out of the bullpen in the 8th inning.

Chris Sale is probably my favorite non-Brave pitcher.  I really wanted us to get him (knew there was no way).

Kimbrel looks like he's already pitching for the 2019 Braves... can't throw strikes

Honestly this is what he is now.

So you're telling me the Kimbrel we all know and loved is gone? He's not the same guy?

He's had control problems the last couple years, he still a top tier closer but he's going to make you sweat.

I worry about giving him a big deal because he's getting near that age closers start to fall off and he's thrown a lot of innings.

Houston is winning this whole thing. I just think they're too good. Boston can give them a series but I don't think they're strong enough to beat them 4 times. LA might can steal a couple of games but that's about it. Milwaukee would be overpowered IMO.

Also, the LDS's this year weren't very eventful. It was mainly domination from every winning team. Yankees and Braves were able to steal 1 game each but that's it. Top seeds were too strong this year. Only the second time in the WC era that both #1's advanced. Its #1 vs #2 in both leagues.

Man how trash is your rotation when Gio Gonzalez is your LCS Game 1 starter?

Brewers plan all October is to use their bullpen as much as possible. That's why they're probably not winning the title. Their SP isnt strong enough. LA's plan is to be patient and wear out the Brewers pen.

Gotta get Woodruff as a power bat next season.

Michael Lorenzen from the Reds. He hit 3 or 4 homeruns this year as a relief pitcher. He's such a good hitter that there were a number of times that he was used as a pinch-hitter.

So the Brewers planning on running Hader into the ground like the Indians did Miller?

That's the Brewers only shot at winning the whole thing.

Kershaw seems to melt against teams not from Atlanta in October

I wonder if he has another bad start or if LAD gets bounced if he would test FA.

It's not like the Braves are the only team he's pitched good against in October.

  • 2009 - NLDS Game 2 - vs. STL - 6 2/3 IP, 9 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 HR, 1 BB, 4 SO
  • 2013 - NLCS Game 2 - at STL - 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 1 BB, 5 SO
  • 2014 - NLDS Game 4 - at STL - 6 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 HR, 2 BB, 9 SO
  • 2015 - NLDS Game 1 - NYM - 6 2/3 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 HR, 4 BB, 11 SO
  • 2015 - NLDS Game 4 - at NYM - 7 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 HR, 1 BB, 8 SO
  • 2016 - NLCS Game 2 - at CHC - 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 1 BB, 6 SO
  • 2017 - NLCS Game 5 - at CHC - 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 HR, 1 BB, 5 SO
  • 2017 - WS Game 1 - HOU - 7 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 HR, 0 BB, 11 SO

Clayton Kershaw's postseason struggles are really overblown just like anything else by the media. He's had 5 starts (6 counting tonight) where he just really laid an egg and that blows up his otherwise great postseason numbers,
