Wow, Kroy is sitting there at #13.

I really miss Abe. :(

Don't think were ever going to get his production again.

Abe was special on that edge.  Wish we could have gotten him a running partner.

We tried and then injuries fuxed us over. We didn’t try hard enough tho but we had it. That Panthers game week 1 was a show and then it happened....

We all say that now, but I remember tons of people moaning about how he wasn't that good, didn't show up in big games, etc.

Falcon fans are a fickle, largely ****** bunch.

You know it

Yeah that was rough.  Still wonder what that line could have done if they could have played serious snaps together.

Then JA busted, Kroy was Kroy, and Ray Edwards came to Atlanta and got nipple rings.  After that it's like they just gave up, and Smitty and Nolan somehow got this bright idea that they could manufacture pressure and didn't need a true edge rusher.

You said a mouthful there.  You still see it now with a couple of guys that some folks around here keep going in on.  Wait til they aren't here anymore.

I always knew it with Abe that he was out there trying to get it done with not much help.  From 2008 on Abe never played on the line with another double digit sack guy.  He didn't even play with a guy who had 8 sacks.  You look up the stats it's a whole but 2 and 4 sack guys.  Babs had one year when he had 6 sacks and that was the high.

That's a terrible indictment on so many levels.

Anyone know how many sacks Claude Humphrey had? I'd guess he's the actual #1 on the list, but of course sacks weren't an official stat yet. But on the subject, it's quite sad that Beasley's already number 10 and he doesn't even have 30 sacks yet.

If you break it down to sack rate (SR), both Vick and Takk are top 10.

Player Gms Sacks SR
John Abraham, 2006-12 102 68.5 0.67
Roderick Coleman, 2004-08 49 30 0.61
Chris Doleman, 1994-95 30 16 0.53
Vic Beasley, 2015-18 49 25.5 0.52
Patrick Kerney, 1999-06 120 58 0.48
Chuck Smith, 1992-99 123 58.5 0.48
Ellis Johnson, 2002-03 32 15 0.47
Takkarist McKinley, 2017-18 18 8 0.44
Sam Rogers, 2002-03 17 7.5 0.44
Dan Owens, 1996-97 31 13.5 0.44

Sadly though if you take out the 2016 regular season where Vic averaged almost a sack a game (we know it was in bunches), he drops back to 19th in sack rate with very different company.

Player Gms Sacks SR
Osi Umenyiora, 2013-14 32 10 0.31
Travis Hall, 1995-04 133 41.5 0.31
Vic Beasley, 2015-18 33 10 0.30
Lester Archambeau, 1993-99 108 31 0.29
Rick Bryan, 1984-91,93 109 29 0.27
