Nothing about playing in the pre season is going to stop a player from tearing an ACL.

Not so sure. I know that there might not be any statistical evidence, but not having to go from no action to giving 120% might not be the best idea. At best it looks like a questionable decision. We have two of our best defenders out, Freeman looks like he's close to being out as well, Matt is looking Rusty, Julio and Matt aren't on the same page.

Contrary to the "Preseason is Meaningless" mantra, sometimes getting a dress rehearsal in before having to do it for real (much less against one of the best in the league) is a better idea than letting guys rest.

Isiaah Wynn, Derrius Guice, Jon Cyprien and a host of others would like a word with you.

Did he play? But he wasn't changing direction. He was chasing from behind beelined towards the sideline.

Yes Keanu played in the preseason. Had 18 snaps against the Chiefs then I remember him being out there most of the first half in the third one. You don’t remember the pick he had?

What an utter dumb***, thinking it was a great idea to let all the starters do jack squat in OTA's and Pre Season. NONE of our players are in game shape. That leads to dumb injuries and our team being gassed in the 3rd QTR and our offense to not gel.

It only took one game to have our best defensive players miss the rest of the year and show our offense did not work together enough to iron out the offensive issues from last year.

Team is done this year, Season is over, look at our schedule, we will easily be 2-6 after 8 games. Good luck digging out of that hole.

Next year Quinn needs to paly the dang starters, get them in game shape, if they get injured then at least you have time before the season starts to fill the needs.

I think the injuries may have been caused by the game delays during the Philly game. That may have put them at hire risk to get injured. Plus Lincoln field is hard on your body if you're not used to it.

Word has it Deion did nothing all offseason; according to some posters! Lol.

People just looking to be upset at and blame someone for this.

Its called chance. You want to win a SB? You rise up and prove this brotherhood talk stands for something. Next man up.

So what happens when we don't rise up? What's the next mantra or slogan or excuse? Injuries?

Fairy tales my dude. Not happening. Not this year and probably not ever.

They suck. Hope youre doing better

Preciate that bro.

Yeah this one is a new one on me. My problem was I couldn’t stay off it the full six weeks. I wouldn’t run for about a week, week and a half and it’d get to feeling good like there was nothing wrong, totally pain free, so I’d wanna get back out there and test it out. Next day I’d be back to square one.

Had to finally break down and get me a bike. That’s how I’ve been getting my cardio in. Just now coming back around to a 100%.

Conditioning is an issue for every team early in the season. There’s no amount of preseason playing you can do to change that unless you’re gonna put them out there for a whole preseason game. It just is what it is.

But are we talking about injuries or conditioning because the OP seems to have been trying to link these two injuries to the lack of playing in the preseason and that’s just not the way it works with ACLs at least.

I partially agree with you about the acl but when you thinking about it. What was the first injury that caused Neal to go out? Was that cramps or a muscle pull? That can come from conditioning and did that injury lead to the acl tear?

Yep some of these people on here just don't understand injuries at all. Like Quinn could have prevented an ACL tear lol

Oh I definitely understand injuries. 90% disabled veteran. I did the crucible in the Marine Corps on a stress facture in my shin. They wanyed to recycle me to PCP, pork chop platoon, but my squad, unit made sure I finished those 11 miles hump.

I had knee surgery, back surgery, my patellafemoral is shot, which is in the knee, bone spurs in my foot and knee. I know injuries but I know conditioning and overuse. Thatsl is why there is a routine in preseason, to condition you for a rigorous season WITHOUT overusing too early in conditioning.

U apologize for my negativity but I pay quite a bit for STH and expected much more and value the team very high. There are A LOT of great, intellingent posters on this board.

But understand, we have varying perspectives and viewpoints and some of us wear emotions on our sleeves. I usually don't but dam. My 2 of 3 favorite Falcons and one is already close to all time (Debo) gone.

But some are analytical, logical  and just take it with a grain of salt, which is not wrong neither. And I appreciate some keeping us grounded, not matter which side of the aisle you are on, doom and gloom, or wait and see, or no matter what rose colored.

We are all fans.

*Please God, let 45 come back in time for a playoff push and SB run!!

/end negative rant, soap box rant, doom and gloom

I just exhaled!!

1st injury looked to me like a hammy, but reports later indicated it was a knee.
