"Matt Ryan's passer rating this year is 93.9. His career passer rating is 93.6. Last year it was 117

He's on pace for about 13 interceptions. He averages about 12 per season on his career. Last year he had 7.

He's on pace for 23 TDs. His career average per season is about 25.5. Last year he had 38.

His YPA is 7.93. His career YPA is 7.47. Last year it was 10.1.

He's averaging 263 yards per game. His career YPG is about 262. Last year it was 309.

None of those stats are bad. They're actually pretty **** good. Because Matt Ryan is a **** good QB.But if you want to know why he hasn't looked like he did last year, it's because last year was a MASSIVE career outlier for him. He was playing on a god tier, all time great QB level. Now he's playing like his average self.

There's nothing "wrong" with Matt Ryan. He hasn't regressed, and he's not fallen of a cliff because of his OC. He's just gone back to being Matt Ryan."

Ryan's the best Falcon QB of all-time, but let's call a spade a spade and stop expecting him to be elite. It doesn't make him any less of a franchise QB.

It is true that it appears that MVP season was an outlier. I just don't think the organization knew how important it was to retain Kyle Shanahan. Make him head coach if you have to.

There's no way we could fire Dan Quinn after we just got to a Super Bowl, but I said this last year and I'll say it again: there's a very good chance we let the best coach in falcon history walk away. I don't give a **** about him not running the ball in the Super Bowl, that man made Matt Ryan an MVP. And I wouldn't be surprised if he did the same with Jimmy G.

He's a good player that the front office wanted to push as an elite player, for the sake of PR.  Just like "Average Joe" Johnson was for the Hawks, and Garnet Exelby was for the Thrashers.

Yes he is a good player and is capable of playing like an elite player with the right OC as we seen in 2016.

Right, but even without a perfect situation, or perfect play, he should be able to perform better.  Maybe they're not giving him enough freedom to change plays.

I can agree with all of this.  What ticked me off more than anything was this last contract.  WAY TOO MUCH, just because he is the best you have had and says all the right things.  Too many folks thinking he is "built like Tom Brady" he can play to 40 and beyond like Tom Brady.  Hope we enjoy 2019, 2020 and 2021.  Hope his best days are not behind him.

MR played lousy last night, but during pregame, what were the categories they showed him leading in over the most recent 10 years?

I forgot.... I think the first was yards....

They had it all cued up for the Ice man but he laid the egg.  Even still, I'm not going  to come out & say he sucks & we need to move on like a few clowns here.  LMAO.

I get it, to be fair, the NFL game has changed.  Guys throw the ball a lot more now than they did 25 years ago.  Yards will be up.  His numbers look good, the thing is, he doesn't seem to put the team on his back or make something out of nothing.  Last nights loss would have been prevented if he played like he is paid.  We know the pocket has to be perfect.  We know he has to have windows and open WRs.  I get it, but when you look at what he is being paid, doesn't match up.  Doesn't play like the best QB in the game.

You nwed a good enough QB to win it all, the problem is sark. He needs to have Ryan run more. That is something that Shanny does with his offenses by design and it keeps the defense on their heels.

Last night he played scared.  Fk that.  He pissed me off.  But then again, I didn't have to look down Fletcher's throat all night either.  MR does have the fire, but we need to get some other guys involved in the offense to take pressure off of MR also.

You're dismissed.  You've already been proven to be a failed troll beyond a shadow of a doubt.  Back under your bridge sissy.

I think Matt Ryan proved EXACTLY what the sensible members of this board have been saying. While others, like yourself, continue to live in the past. How was that wide open deep ball to Julio for you? I know how you like those wide open Matt Ryan under throws.

troll.

Career passer rating of 93.6 is elite. Unfortunately, I think he has regressed, and doesn't look like the guy that can be a 93.6 passer.

Yeah, he most certainly has not "regressed."

You guys are a casino owner's dream, man.
