The Buffalo Bills are absolutely awful at the WR position.  I would think they would be good candidates.

So what do they offer us?

We mostly agree. I just think the team is not going to be as eager to extend him next year because of his current stance. The team has to get something in exchange for guranteeing a player big money. What is it that they get? What if the player has a history of taking the big guranteed money and then holding out with 3 years left on the deal? Does a smart business gurantee more money after that? Remember, Julio isn't a FA. We don't have to do anything at all and he will still be suiting up in red and black.

What’s current right now will have happened 6-9 months and a full season ago when the Falcons have indicated they’re willing to take care of Julio.

And by holding their ground now, Julio knows this tactic won’t work so he’s likely to not repeat it.  Particularly since he’ll be past him prime at that point.

Employer-employee circumstances, like every other privately-owned business on planet Earth.

Right, but other employer-employee circumstances relate to multi-billionaires & multi-millionaires...

So, if I don't react the same way you do, I'm either not a fan or too stupid to know what's going on?

I am super passionate about my team.  I am about as die hard of a fan of the Falcons as any fan for any team I have ever met.  When I see something that has the potential to negatively impact my team, I get "emotional" about it. (I call it passionate but whatever)  When I see other "fans" being so nonchalant about something I perceive to be significant, it makes me question if I am even dealing with real fans, dealing with someone in denial, or what have you.

That is human nature and psychology 101.  When someone behaves differently than you do, you tend to question why that is.  Im not accusing any one of not being a fan, nor will I, just simply walking you all through the thought process when trying to interpret some of your responses to the situation.

Does that clear it up for you folks at all?

Yep, and the gander's going to have to decide if he wants to work and make millions or hang out and make nothing.

Glad that you already know what is going to happen. None of us know exactly what is going to happen, but I strongly believe Blank will step in at some point and broker a compromise.

2017

Julio - 89 touches, 1459 yards and 3 TDs

Gurley - 343 touches, 2093 yards and 19 TDs

Players like Bell, Gurley and Johnson are more than RBs. Bell put it perfectly, those guys are offensive specialist and deserve to get paid more than a typical RB. The WR market needs to fizzle out fast. Can’t believe teams haven’t realized that the position is overrated.

Imagine what Julio could do with 343 touches.

Yes, it does, if I don't react like you do, I'm not a real fan. Which is just nonsense.

I think the Falcons would be really lucky to get a 1st and a 3rd but I doubt they could get that much.

Still keep them between the 20s...that's what he would do with 343 touches.

Good to know.  Can we not derail this thread any further with my statement?  I clarified what I meant and why I made the statement.  Agree or not, let's just all let it die shall we.  I don't want any "emotions' getting this thread locked down.

It's all good. At the end of the day we all want the same result: Quinn raising that Lombardi in February at MB Stadium.

The team was planning on extending him. That was before this holdout. What does the team get for guranteeing him more money next offseason? They will still have his rights for 2 more years plus the franchise tag.

A discount on future years is normally the trade off for big guranteed money. I'm afraid Julio has shown he is capable of signing the deal, taking the guranteed money, and then refusing to show up. That's why his big extension is far less likely now.
