Bleh tonight sucked. Trae missed several 3's early, but wasn't the only problem tonight.

Since we are determined to keep comparing Luka and Trae... Luka was 3/14 and 0/5 on 3's tonight. Also went 2/4 from the strike.

12 assists though...

30 pts 8assists 2 rbs 3 stls (only credit for 1) and a block against the blazers.  %50 from 3.

I thought this was his best overall game to date. His defensive effort was consistent and high all game long.

Vs you know who.

It's not going to matter what happens. Regardless, Trae will still be a bum and Luka will still be a monster in the eyes of some people

Over his last three contests, Young is averaging 26.3 points and 8.0 assists (.636 FG%, .429 3FG%, .875 FT%) in 30.7 minutes.

Love it, but he HAS to find a way to cut down on these turnovers. He needs to be sitting at a better than 2:1 assist to turnover ratio, and he hasn't done it all year due to the 4+ turnovers he throws away every night.

I think Rookie of the Month for January is his.

18.7 PPG 7.6 APG .444 FG% .337 3FG% .864 FT%

(Taking care of the ball is next on his list to work on).

If it makes you feel better, since December 1 (more than half the season for both players, 27 and 29 games, respectively), Trae Young has a higher FG%, 3P%, and FT% than Luka.

:ninja:

No doubt.  It would also be nice, though, if some of his teammates (no Collins) did a better job of holding on to passes or being in the right place.  Not saying it doesn't happen to all players, but there are many times where he makes a perfect dish that gets fumbled or where a player makes the wrong cut, with the TO going to him.

It is just stupid how good this off-hand, no-look pass is.  Sadly wasn't converted.

Man we've got ourselves a couple of future stars and maybe even a few superstars. Hopefully the Mavs suck a little more, but not enough to get a top 5 pick. Would be a dream come true if we got 1 and 6 lol.

And that's why he was drafted. This stuff is hard to teach, especially if a player doesn't have any concept of how to anticipate openings and player movement. I imagine it takes years for players to develop that kind of basketball acumen to make a pass like that on a consistent basis, and many never get it. Trae was doing it from day 1.

Mavs just traded for Porzingis. They will not be sucking. That pick will be in the mid to high teens. That's OK though. We drafted Collins and Huerter at 19.

They indeed traded for Porzingis, but he likely won't be playing for them this year according to Cuban here

OK then they probably will suck after giving up Matthews, Jordan and Smith. That's 37 ppg, 19 rpg and 9 apg that Hardaway and Lee won't be able to replace. Cuban may be planning to tank his way back into that Top 5 pick.
