Maybe Julio needs to learn something from his mentee?  Calvin is signed now and also has a reasonable contract for 4 years plus a 5th year option.

Lol. It’s a rookie contract with CBA limits. Julio’s situation is entirely different.

Finally? Vic Beasly signed his rookie contract in Mid July, it’s not unusual. Rookies are protected from injury.

exactly. the only thing negotiated is how and when the money is given...the amount is slated by the draft position.

Julio will by 30 soon and he knows this is his last chance at a big payday.....regardless of his current contract, it's now or never for him

You knew someone would make this about Julio or complain about the timing. Smh

And a first rounder always has a 5th year option

Good for him.  Just signed a fully guaranteed contract for about $11 million total with a $6 million signing bonus.  Easy to forget that it's life changing money for a first rounder when they sign that contract.

Also, on the fifth year option, it's far more reasonable for players outside of the top 10.

It is for sure, PK. A Red Letter Day in the life of that young man.

Glad his signed. Thanks for posting. That said...

A rookie is not Julio. If the rookie does light it up, he'll be squawking for a new deal and big payday going into the 5th year...option smoption. So, saying Julio can learn from him is just wrong on every conceivable level.
