More on the McNitt kid - Also played QB and LB positions.  Definitely looks like a DQ kind of guy.

Before Nebraska (Kearney HS/Nebraska-Kearney)
McNitt played in 10 games for Nebraska-Kearney in 2013, where he completed 34-of-71 passes for 415 yards and three touchdowns while playing quarterback. McNitt ran for a season-high 111 yards and three touchdowns against Lindenwood, the first of two 100-yard rushing efforts. For the season, McNitt racked up 318 yards on the ground on 82 rush attempts, while managing seven touchdowns. McNitt was also on the receiving end for the Lopers, catching eight passes for 51 yards and one touchdown. His TD reception came against Emporia State, where he caught a season-high five passes for 31 yards.

McNitt had a standout career at Kearney High, where he set school records for total offense and touchdowns, while also providing stellar defensive production as a linebacker. As a senior in 2012, McNitt collected first-team All-Nebraska honors at linebacker, while being named first-team Class A all-state and the Kearney Hub's Offensive Player of the Year. He threw for 1,219 yards and 16 touchdowns, while running for 928 yards and 13 touchdowns. McNitt earned honorable-mention Class A all-state as a junior. McNitt also excelled in track and field, where he captured the 2013 Class A state titles in shot put (59-8) and discus (171-1).

I guess this is the guy they zeroed in on all along.

Paul called it as far as being a UDFA

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline relays that Nebraska FB Luke McNitt "really impressed scouts" during Wednesday's pro day.
McNitt (6'0/237) posted very respectable testing marks for a fullback, including a 34-inch vertical jump and a 40-yard dash in the mid-to-high 4.7's. Pauline passes along that McNitt additionally "really looked good catching the ball." He's a probable UDFA candidate for after April's draft. Mar 15 - 4:53 PM

After losing Corey Nelson to the Eagles during free agency, the Broncos are expected to select a linebacker in the 2018 NFL draft.

Perhaps Emmanuel Ellerbee is the man they’re looking for.

Ellerbee (6-1, 235 pounds) ran a 4.58-second 40-yard dash and recorded a 42-inch vertical jump at Rice’s pro day last week. Broncos scout Klein Kubiak was in attendance at the pro day, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

As Wilson pointed out on Twitter, Ellerbee and Kubiak both played for Strake Jesuit High School in the Houston area.

During his 26 games with the Owls, Ellerbee recorded 85 tackles (including eight tackles for losses) and three sacks. He also recorded one interception and forced three fumbles.

If selected by the Broncos later this month, Ellerbee will need a new jersey number. No. 58 belongs to Von Miller, one of the NFL’s best linebackers.

NFL Network, ESPN and FOX will air the draft beginning April 26.

Falcoholic also reporting we signed:

  • FB Daniel Marx, Stanford

Profile I found on him:

Bio:
Fullback who caught six passes for 59 yards and rushed five times for seven yards in his Stanford career. Named Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 as a sophomore.

Pos:
Explosive lead blocker who attacks assignments. Instinctive, aggressive and shows great awareness. Bends his knees, blocks with leverage and stays square to seal defenders from the action. Fires out of his stance and accelerates into blocks. Gets out to the second level and gets a pad on linebackers to knock them from their angles of attack. Always looks for someone to hit.

Neg:
Plays to one speed. Struggles to finish blocks. Marginal offensive threat.

Analysis:
Marx is a one-dimensional, lead-blocking fullback who craves contact and does the little things well. He comes with limitations but can easily fill the role of traditional fullback.
