GET-ME-A-DB-TD

Who on here thinks we draft...

2 Dlinemen in the 1st 4 rounds...? I only ask because I see people oooover and oooover saying draft this DT in the 1st then another in the 2nd or 3rd. I've honestly never seen us as psychotic about a big DT splash. I personally see 2 offensive and 2 defensive players taken in the 1st 4 rounds.

I actually think we will trade our 3rd round pick to move back and pick up another 4th.

So I see us picking 26, 58, then 3 4th round selections.

I see it going DT, OL, DT, CB, LB.

Or maybe LB, DT, DT, CB, OL.

Then we’ll get a WR, FB, and TE with the 6th and 2 7ths.

Yep, everyone always talks about a trade down in the first but you can do it later and still get those extra picks that you lack

I think we got DT in round one unless they guy they love is gone (I think 2 DTs go before our pick) or a stud like Davenport is still there.

i could see a WR but not sure many if any are solid round 1 guys.

i would be good with LVE in round one also, he is gonna be good.

i could sleep well if we took Hurst in 1 and another DT (Phillips, Thompson, etc.) in 2 honestly. I doubt we go B2B there though.

There really aren’t any positions outside of K that would surprise me in this draft.

I did but now I think we only take 2 DTs if we don’t take one in the 1st.  If we take one in the 1st we’ll pickup another in FA.  No reasoning other than a hunch and what I’d do.

We better pick a WR/TE before we pick a another OL.

If they're aren't any world-shaking DTs available just get the absolute BPA.  I'd hate to see a 'desperation' pick just because its initials are 'DT'.

Here's the problem... this is the pattern of guys we've met with.  Notice their draft round projections and the volume of players by those positions?

Sure looks like OL is a bigger priority than WR and TE.

WR:

WR Keke Coutee, Texas Tech  - 4th-5th
WR DaeSean Hamilton, Penn State - 4th-5th
WR Deontay Burnett, USC - 4th-5th

WR Javon Wims, Georgia - 6th+
WR Richie James, Middle Tennessee - 7th+
WR Vyncint Smith, Limestone - 7th+
WR Jonah Trinnaman, BYU - 7th+
WR Jake Wieneke, South Dakota State - 7th+
WR Dorren Miller, Carson-Newman - 7th+

TE:

TE Hayden Hurst, South Carolina - 1st-2nd
TE Troy Fumagalli, Wisconsin - 4th-5th
TE Tyler Conklin, Central Michigan - 7th+

OL:

OT Mike McGlinchey, Notre Dame -1st
OT Kolton Miller, UCLA - 1st-2nd
OG Braden Smith, Auburn - 2nd-3rd
OT Tyrell Crosby, Oregon - 3rd
OT Brandon Parker, North Carolina A&T - 3rd
OC James Daniel, Iowa - 3rd

OG Tony Adams, N.C. State - 7th+
OT Brett Toth, Army - 7th+
OT Rick Leonard, Florida State - 7th+
OC Austin Golson, Auburn - 7th+
OG Cory Helms, South Carolina - 7th+
OG Anthony Coyle, Fordham - 7th+
OG Matthew Gono, Wesley  - UDFA
OG Jeremi Hall, South Florida - UDFA
OT Korey Cunningham, Cincinnati - UDFA
OT Jamil Demby, Maine - UDFA
OC Tejen Koroma, BYU - UDFA
OC Patrick Morris, Texas Christian - UDFA
OC Harley Vaughn, West Georgia - UDFA

1. DT

2. WR/TE/RB

3. DB

4. DT

6. FB

7. OL/TE

7. LB

I see this as a real possibility. Just depends if there's a guy they really want in the 2nd that's considered an immediate impact player for the team

I'm really hoping we go WR in round 3. We should be able to get Hamilton, Gallup, or St. Brown with that pick. And any one of those guys would be huge for us moving forward.

How are you getting 3 4th round picks?

We only have 1 to begin with. If you trade our 3rd round pick that would be 2.

Trading down out of the 3rd into the early part of the 4th will only net us a 5th.

We have 26, 58, 90, 126

We trade 90 to Denver for their 106 and 113.

This gives us 26, 58, 106, 113, 126.

A 1st, 2nd, and 3 4ths.

Denver is a prime candidate as they have 2 3rd's, 2 4th's, and 2 5th's, plus high round 1 and 2.  I don't think they'd mind having 5 of the first 100 picks.  And we seem to be looking at a heck of a lot of prospects in the 4th round at several positions.

Ok, it makes sense now.
