The JJ pick, with all the second guessing was amazing too! I was one of those hoping we'd get him in the 2nd and couldn't believe it when we got him in the fifth. How he was still there I will never figure out, but I'm so happy he was. Getting Jarrett was/is just as much a game-changer for us on the DL as Alex Mack was when he came to play center. I'm still bitter about him not getting a SB MVP. That performance will never be remembered because of the result. true - also, Julio's sideline catch should have been the best catch ever made in a SuperBowl and it is not remembered at all anymore. FentayeJones
Didn't realize Grady was in such phenomenal shape - dude doesn't have an ounce of fat on him. Him and Vic could be on a power lifting team.

With all due respect - and I mean that, because I like you as a poster - you're plain wrong because most of those guys don't play both 1-Tech and 3-Tech. It's a bit like saying something like, oh, Alvin Kamara is the best RB that catches the ball in the NFL. And someone coming in and saying, "you really think Kamara is better than Lesean McCoy, Kareem Hunt, Leveon Bell, Ezekiel Elliott, and David Johnson? I don't think so." Most of those guys don't serve the same roles as he does, position notwithstanding. And guys like Leveon Bell and David Johnson are (like Donald) the exception, not the rule. If anything, that's giving your point too much credit, because at least those other RBs catch the ball - most of those DTs don't even split roles like Grady Jarrett. I don't remember Grady looking like that either - I think he has changed his body dramatically....not sure if he looked this way last season or if this was all done in offseason - you just don't see DTackles with that good of a midsection. Peyton
If the Falcons were smart they would probably do everything they could to do this deal now. The Falcons really don't want to see Grady have a monster year and then have a chance to test free agency. They might be able to get him for 10 mil a year if they did the deal right now, but if he continues to improve he could be a $15 mil a year guy next year. The salary cap manager is gonna need a raise - he is about to be asked to perform magic for real. The next 3 years managing the cap is going to be very difficult. kiwifalcon
Don't even understand how Donald got in this thread.Dont even know what relevance it has either all I do know is watching Jarrett play I'd love to find another guy like him. A poor man's Grady Jarrett Dukes Mike Ramsay same build same sought of interior quickness go check this guy out.Hes been working extensively with Chuck Smith who raves about the guy. Jarrett is as advertised I wouldn't be surprised to see this guy in amongst the top half a dozen DTs in the league this year if he isn't already. I think you're getting caught up too much in positions, to be honest. The major difference between the nose and 3 tech is that the nose lines up where it's designed for him to take on 2 blockers. The 3 tech is designed to give your DT the best chance at being 1 on 1. If you think any of those guys aren't getting doubled more than they're playing 1 on 1, I'm not sure what to tell you lol. Jarrett is a monster. Nothing wrong with saying that without saying there's nobody in the league that does what he does better.

They’re just Big but Fat guys in the nfl are very few compare to most. Every DLman I’ve ever met was similar to Grady’s build. They look fat in tv but they’re really not. I remember thinking Jamal Anderson was chunky when he was in his prime until I met him after they beat the Vikings in the nfccg at a club that night. No Fat at all. Same with Michael Turner when I met him at the Fox Grill. No Fat. Just legs like tree trunks.
