POLL: Realistically...How much should Matt Ryan's new contract be for? (Assume for argument's sake that if a new contract is given it will be for 5 years)

5 years  - between $60 million and $69 million guaranteed
or
5 years  - between $70 million and $79 million guaranteed
or
5 years  - between $80 million and $89 million guaranteed
or
5 years  - between $90 million and $99 million guaranteed
or
5 years  - between $100 million and $120 million guaranteed
or
Forget it--the fans don't like like that Matt Ryan already has been paid a monster contract in the past and now is not willing to sign a team friendly contract that allows us room to bring on much needed surrounding talent to get to SB-- lets give no contract and trade him for as much as we can and get someone new

Since Cousins just got $84M guaranteed, that will be the starting point.  It will go up from there.  Like it or not, that's the new market price for a franchise QB.

i say 5 years, 150 million, 95 million guaranteed is what he will get.

i could see a four year deal to try and get one more 3-4 year deal also.

I won't be upset since I already know the Falcons are going to overpay the guy. The question was what I think the Falcons SHOULD pay Ryan, not what I think they will.

This should be relatively easy since the market has been set... Stafford, Garoppolo and Cousins signed at 27-28 per year... Ryan is next in line for 28+ per year, then Rodgers becomes first 30 Mil guy

Ryan should receive somewhere around 6 yrs, 172Mil, with around 95 guaranteed... its just what the market dictates. Anything else is unrealistic on either side

What ever both parties agree to sign. Matt Ryan deal will most likely be done with out any complications. It’s media and fans wanting to stir **** up.

Announced as 5 years, $145 million, average $29 a year.

Since it's an extension, it will effectively be like a 6 year, $166 million deal, average $27.6 a year.  This extra year will allow us to eat through the guaranteed money quicker, people will see that it's not some franchise crippling contract, and then find something new to complain about...probably Sark.

This is why we are always so adament about signing the big guys with a year still left on their deal. It’s a win-win.  It averages out to less money per year that way and they still get paid what they want.

Whatever they decide on is good with me. Ryan has had his ups and downs over the years but he is the man that will probably et us to our first SB victory. I am one who never thought  I would say this.
