Cut a top 3 punter (arguably the best last season), with ZERO punters on the market worth bringing in to look at. They have 11 picks but wtg would you make your team burn one to draft a punter to fill his shoes as a rookie? Lose a 6th rnd pick(if you wait til 7th you might not get the best since a few teams need punters, and again there a ZERO options in F.A., and no rook is going to flip the field like he- did last season. 4.9 hangtimes aren't likely from a rookie. Lol. So funny how teams put no stock in the position. There’s a couple potentially great punters (Dickson and Scott) in this draft... youngbloodz
King is ok. He might be better than Bosher. But Bosher don't cost you 15 yard penalties unless he is trying to make a tackle. Hard pass
aer2033
If we get rid of Bosher, who is gonna make all the tackles on the punt returns?

That was probably the motivation behind the cut. Or, gruden just wants to cut everyone he doesnt like. I doubt he will ask for much less from a new team. Is it possible that Gruden is getting rid of any potental personality that might be a distraction from his. I’m thinking it’s the money but it wouldn’t surprise me. I don’t take Gruden as the type of coach that encourages players to let there personalities shine.
Tribal Chief
Gruden dislikes his personality. There’s the reason. I like to enjoy myself so it’s hard for me to have an issue with him celebrating

If that is the case, then why is Marshawn Lynch still on the team? Gruden doing all this talk about how he's going to bring the game back to 1998. Good luck with that when he is forced to attempt to adapt to today's NFL. Gruden's 100mil deal will be the Albert Haynesworth deal of HC contracts. Well why don't we cut/trade Bosher for the 2.2m cap savings. 2.7mcap hit-500k dead cap. We could trade Bosh+last pick for their 5th. Then sign Mrquette to 5/15, and have a 1m 2018 hit. Pick up a 5th rnd, save 1-1.25m in cap, and have a punter that would be an instant crowd favorite. There would be no decrease in punting efficiency and prob an upgrade at that. He had the most punts pinned inside the 10 last season and we are becoming a run-first t.o.p.team. It sounds like a win-win to me, However I like Bosher and wouldn't want to see him go. He's caught 2 stupid personal fouls for using the flag as a prop in celebration, and for taunting Tyreek Hill after a PR TD. He picked up a P.F> horsecollar on Weems against us but that actually saved a TD.

But still costs you to burn a pick on a position that wasn't a need. There is some really good talent in rounds 5-7 and losing a pick to choose a punter(who tend not to light it up year one) is a loss no matter how you view it. Not saying I agree with the move, unless the punter was me-first instead of team..,.which very well could be the case. Gruden was hired to take team to SB, to do that he has to send a messsage to team there’s a new sheriff in town and things are gonna be a lot different. His way or highway. That's true and one would think Lynch would fall into that category. I here dude was really well liked, but I definitely understand saying things are going to be different but to cut him before he even meets with the coaching staff? Sounds like Gruden had his lamb in mind before he took the job. Happy Easter to you and yours buddy. 1989Fan
Bosher knocks heads off, King dances. I will take Bosher. NFL radio said ithe release was due to his personality, and Gruden wasn’t willing to tolerate it from a punter. The chain snatching re-enactment at the pro bowl didn’t sit well in the Raiders locker apparently either. To celebrate after a punt, which is a negative play anyways, then cause a penalty on top says a lot. And it has happened in consecutive seasons. Gruden is old school. Doesn’t like flair, and has been known to not consider kickers real football players I believe. Minnesota is interested in bringing him in they claimed.
