Ryans contract numbers might drop(IMO).... Brees, Cousins, Bradford, Keenum contracts

Brees did a 25/year. Keenum is averaging 20/year. Bradford did a one year 20. Cousins 27/year (but the details have not leaked on the structure).

Ryans agent can say what ever he wants with the niners going crazy with Groppolopolopolpolo. And how Ryan should get more.  I am starting to think Ryan's contract benefit now will just be more guarantee. Because right now the market looks to saying the numbers should be 25ish/year.

The one thing that could make it go up is Cousins deal. and I think right after Cousins signs, ryan will sign.

Yeah, w/ Brees taking $25mm/yr and Cousins $27.5mm/yr and both presumably left money on the table.   If Ryan's number comes in north of $28mm/yr - it will be bad look for him personally and as harming the team.

Either way, the price should be fair and not outrageous. Ryan needs to think about the team being able to get a good oline to block for him especially if he wants to continue to have kids.

Yeah, seems realistic.   Still surprised that Brees signed basically a one-year deal for $25mm.  (although it is advertised as 2yr/$50mm).

if ever there was a guy that deserved $30mm/yr it is Drew Brees - as much as I despise the guy - w/o him, the Saints would be 3-13 every year.

Ryan will get 5 years at 30 million per with 90 mill guaranteed ...

... that's my OPINION which may or may not become FACT, for the anal ones.

I was surprised at that also.

Most of the reports leaked to NOLA Media had his number at 20-22M. HIs agent did a good job for even getting 25.

not that it really matters nor could it be used in negotiations but know this:

Drew Brees was a 2nd round pick and did not get a big rookie deal.

Kirk Cousins came into the league as a 4th round pick so he didn't make much on his rookie deal.

Case Keenum came into league as an UDFA

Matt Ryan came into the league as the #3 overall draft pick (before the rookie wage scale) - Matt's first contract was 6yrs and $72mm - so he has gotten paid out of the gate where those others never did.

Just sayin'......Matt Ryan has been very good for the Falcons - but he hasn't given us a discount yet in his 10 years in the NFL.

Yeah, Matt has been great for the Falcons franchise but Arthur Blank has been very good to Matt Ryan as well - if Matt truly wants to give the Falcons a SB, he could stand to take a few million less per year - Brees did it at a time when his earning power is almost over as a player.

If the negotiations were easy it would have been done by now.

That Bradford deal is absurd. The cards better draft a decent QB or it’s the Drew Stanton show by week 6.

Bradford has worked the system to perfection. There has never been a player who has made as much as Bradford who hasnt done anything worthwhile in the NFL

No joke. It’s incredible how long he has lasted doing absolutely nothing.

There was literally nobody that expected 20-22. Not sure where you're getting that number. His previous 2 years averaged 22, but we all expected this to approach 30.

Your own Nola blogs/papers had it, there were few posted on TATF. The biggest surprise is only 1 year Guaranteed.
