k-train
This is good to hearAustin Hooper began his offseason workouts early after a somewhat disappointing sophomore year. "I came back to Atlanta this early in the offseason from California to put in the work instead of just being on vacations," Hooper said. "It was just me and Matt (Ryan). He's starting to throw again, so I want to make sure I'm there as much as possible. Every time he wants to throw, I'm trying to make sure that I'm there." Hooper, 23, has been criticized by Falcons fans after a trying second year. He will be a buy-low, late-round fantasy pick in 2018. FentayeJones
Didn't realize Hooper was only 23. This past season should have been in SR year in college.
NeonDeion
Hooper is gonna surprise a lot of people. The talent is there
Statick
Hooper is a **** good player, man. His route running is definitely going to get better. And with a killer stiff arm.
Dirtybird56
Hooper is gonna be good as heIl
Deep2Julio
Still don't see it. Physically gifted with too many mental lapses in the moment. Teach a man to run routes all day, but the instincts have to be there.

If he does a better job of using his body of boxing defenders out and catching with his hands and not his body....he will have a good year
FalconJim
Glad to hear this --- I like Hoop!!! He just needs to work on a few things --- i.e., route running, looking the ball ALL THE WAY IN and catching it with his hands...
TheFalcoholic
Great to hear. Dude is serious. Looking to see him take a jump this year, mentally. If not, time to draft a TE high next year if the right opportunity presents itself.

Theyhateme : )
Love this from Hooper and Ryan as well being that he's throwing already. I wasn't ready to give up on Hooper! Good work!
Jerz
Hooper is an average NFL TE, nothing more nothing less.
IndiscreetGeek
Really happy to hear this. Can't knock his effort thats for sure.
me4falcons
Great he's realizing that the NFL stands for "not for long" if you don't make plays. So I'm glad to see he's putting in that WORRK!
quotemokc
Hooper has 200~ (rounded) less yards and 2 more TDs than TG did in his first 2 years. Some people are way too quick to write someone off.
E. T.
I really would like to see him take his game to another level. He not only needs to work on catching and route running but he has to work on blocking as well with the departure of toilolo. His opportunity is here. Sky is the limit for the kid. I will never draft him in fantasy football again.

Worst ever outing by such a promising talent. Personally, have ZERO expectations.....will wait and see his production on game day.
PHALCONABERNATHY
That’s what I’m taking about! Now let’s stop all this new TE talk. Give the kid a chance! I like Hoop and think he has star potential. Tell Sark to get out there with them and practice calling decent plays.
notthatcool
Hooper had some big catches in the playoffs when Ryan was running for his life and the accuracy wasn't there. People are going to hate Hooper regardless. I think he will have a great career.
falcons007
I hope Hooper steps up but Falcons need a joker TE, which Hooper is not. This offense will be even better with another pass catching TE with Hooper.
