Virtual handshake lol

it would be weird not too argue with you at least once during offseason lol

ok, who’s your pick for our first rounder?

It could be a lot of guys.  I will have stronger opinions (if that is possible- lol) after UFA.

Right Now:

Isaiah Wynn(of course)

Taven Bryan

Vita Vea

DaRon Payne

to name a few.   Have others I like but would rather trade back for them.

lots of others to like but doubt they fall.

Right now we have a hole at DT and a SB window can pop up out of nowhere as long you keep young talent on your team. Having the mindset that we have a small SB window will cause you to make hasty decisions that will only benefit you in the present and hinder you in the long run. A lot of us have already learned our lesson with that SB window bull and how it F'd us over in 13-15.

No it doesn’t. And I said we’ll draft a DT in the 1st anyway. So there’s that. We don’t have any holes.  And yes there’s always a small SB window. Eventually we’re gonna have to pay all that young defensive talent and THAT closes the window even more.

The Seahawks saw their window and went and got Bennett and the other DE. Won the SB the next year. That’s why NE stays in the SB. They go get what they need ASAP if they need it. Smiths window closed after 2010 because we couldn’t keep that team on the field. You build a core and everybody else is interchangeable.

Matt Ryan won’t be here forever and young players get old. See the Seahawks. We’ll always have a small window as long as we keep drafting well and breed competition. But we’re a SB team NOW and we have to treat the team as such.

13-15 happened because smith changed the team PHILOSPOPHY. That didn’t work and we didn’t draft scheme specific players. We were fitting square pegs into Round holes. THATS what happened 13-15.

As good as Rodgers is he’s only won one SB. These windows are small. Matt Ryan has had 2 windows. We can’t let the second one close. We’ve drafted so well we can give a 3rd for a player like Bennett now. And while doing that we’ll STILL be drafting well. I don’t see the issue.

I like all of those. Not sold on Wynn, but I understand the love. His play is excellent

you like Ronnie Harrison?

Not looking at safeties right now.  Fairly certain the position is not prioritized this off-season.

Between RICO and KAZEE, they probably feel OK for now at Flowery Branch.

Fair enough. I keep looking at Derwin James and Harrison and see guys who can line up like Jalen Collins could asking cbs, or play FS, letting Rico drop down

but I would agree adding DL is prolly smarter.

If Derwin James fell to us, I am sure that would be a serious conversation but I don’t see that happening.

Other than Grady who do we have on contract to play DT next season? Sure we don't have many "holes" but we can certainly get better at a good number of positions. Paying good defensive talent on your team is not going to close your window if you have players that are ready to step in to the place that may have been left by someone getting paid elsewhere.  NE goes and gets what they need at the right price. I'm not opposed to getting Bennett but not for a 3rd rounder. Thats why their SB window has been open since 2001.  The Eagles paid their young defensive talent and their SB window opened up as soon as they got a franchise QB so hmm what does that say to you?

He’s crazy athletic. DQ could do wonders with that kid

He’s (IMO)  the rare athletic FS you, KOG, and a few others have been pushing for the past couple years.

With Rico about to get a lot more expensive I would sign up for his replacement in this draft. He would be The Ideal.

Two PS guys and Grady are the only DTs under contract. I guess you can count Jack Crawford also - he played there before he got hurt. DT is still a need though.

He’d fit. You never know. Certainly wouldn’t break my heart if we got him

I hear you jerz, you make an excellent point. As long as matt stays healthy, we should stay in the hunt for next 5 Years.

But with that being said, we’re not new england, nobody is. Matt’s not Brady, and quinn’s Not Belichick.

Everyone thought Seattle was a mini-dynasty, and look what happened to them. We have a Top 5 NFL roster today, and we need to go for it now.

Good post. No one on the modern age has been able to replicate belichik. And tbh going for a SB is not a bad thing even if you have to slightly reload

They’ll sign at least one or two vets. They always do. And probably still draft two

Yeah it's kind or obvious where they are going and the fact they are talking to so many the NC State duo being linked to a Bennett trade is saying a lot really.1st round pick could either way but I suspect DT there aswell.
