why even watch then? lose out so we can get a player that is not pro ready

I watch to see the development and progress of the young players that will be on the team next season.

If you can tell me what we gain by winning, I'll stop.

If all the players are not 'pro ready' - I'd like to have the BEST CHANCE to get the best one of the lot. The chance to have that franchise changing talent that the Hawks have lacked since Nique.

Good post jay. It was hard for me at the beginning of the year to not want the win but we need young talent. We got Collins and Dorsey this past draft and now we can add 3 first round picks .

Thing is I'm not a tank fan, I've never rooted for losses but at this point in the season, winning does nothing for us for the future.

Top FA talent isn't going to sign here, so the best way for us to get top talent is via the draft. Sure we can trade for a guy with potential but you need assests for that. Hawks cupboard was bare after watching Al then Millsap leave in FA.

This is year ZERO of the rebuild, I'm good with it. Stockpile young talent and picks and see where we end up. We weren't winning a ring signig a 33 year old Millsap to $30+ million.

I'm not a tank fan either but we agree that this rebuild is the right way to go for this team.

I'm hoping that going into next year TP is going to be really good.

Things to work on in the offseason:

Consistency, decision making and ball handling.

He played a very controlled game running the offense. Need more of this consistently.

his game is all about the 3 point line now

His ability to shoot the 3 will open up the rest of his game. He had some nice drive and finishes to the rim as well as some nice assists from faking the 3pt shot.

He just needs consistency.

Not really. Prince showed some nice finishes at the rim and had a nice fade away midrange jumper. Plus he's making contested shots.

Prince's issue is that he plays out of control at times and forces the issue rather than taking what the defense is giving him. When he's under control and manages the game he gives you performances like today.

That being said, his handles need some work and his shooting needs to be more consistent (learn some post up moves and develop that fade away shot), but he's definitely rounding out into a playmaker that can get his teammates involved.

Espn app just told me he's out for the rest of the season(although I guess that is only several weeks for us). I hate that he's injured because I know it feels terrible to have to watch from the bench. But this also makes it worse that we couldn't trade him before the deadline.

I was hoping that if he continued to play well the rest of the season we could use him and/or one of our late first rounders to trade up in the draft and get a guard if we draft Bagley or Ayton in the the top 5.

Does anyone think this injury will affect his trade value going forward?  I could be overestimating his trade value anyway.

Whatever trade value he's established throughout the season won't change because of this injury.

I'm sure if we were playoff bound, he'd play.

I don't think the injury hurts his trade value but that contract is definitely a cause for concern from any trade partners.

All we need is one team :D.

Before this season started, the Hawks would have had to include an asset to move Baze and his 'bad' contract.

At the trade deadline, there was talk that his value was now positive value -  late 1st rounder.
