FalconsIn2012
Seems like a complete no brainer to me. Despite the fact OJ Howard was picked much higher, I’m sticking with Takk. For some reason Vaughn McClure has us taking Howard in this redraft. ESPN’s Vaughn McClure passed over Takkarist McKinley for an offensive weapon. Player I would select now: TE O.J. Howard. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with sticking with McKinley here, and he has a bright future as he continues to develop his pass-rush skills. But for the sake of having fun with this project, Howard is a tight end the Falcons liked during the draft process and spent some time with along the way. https://www.thefalcoholic.com/2018/2/26/17053402/atlanta-falcons-select-a-tight-end-in-espns-2017-redraft-oj-howard-takk-mckinley Edited February 27, 2018 by Falconsin2012
tl;dr
I'm with you, stick with Takk Vaughn is just trying to get them clicks.

CrimsonFalcon
With hindsight being what it is, I can agree with taking Howard, but at the same time, Takk did very well for the limited amount of playing time he got.
DonDaLuvMaker
Takk will be one of the main reasons why the Falcons defense will reach top 5 status in the very near future. Maybe even as soon as next season.
Osiruz
Takk by a bit. Though you can't go wrong with OJ, we need a TE badly.
g-dawg
if Takk can keep those shoulders healthy - I am taking Takk.
Desert_Falcon
Having all the tools on offense will still require the ability to know how to use them correctly. Give me Takk again. Edited February 27, 2018 by ICD
ChickenBiscuit
Takk will be a major, major key to our defense moving forward.

HASHBROWN3
Takk also outperformed many other DE in his draft class while playing fewer games I believe.
Francis York Morgan
Making way too much of this. He obviously just didn't want the boring "stick with it" choice and he says exactly that in the article.

It’s odd Solomon Thomas was still on the board at our pick in the redraft.
Malachore
I'll take a pass rusher over a TE 10/10 times.
Vandy
Love Takk....but Howard was under-the-radar good even though his team was dysfunctionally bad.

jlrfalcon
If the Falcons had drafted a TE in the 1st Round last year, after spending a 3rd round pick the year before on a TE, this board would have been livid. Takk was also a great safety pick for the Falcons as they did not have to introduce him to the starting lineup immediately (based on his injuries) and were able to ease him slowly during 2017. Dirtybird56
Takk was ridiculously good for a rookie and is already our best pass rusher by a fair margin

For some reason Quinn decided to test out a new role for the reigning sack king, Vic Beasley. He gets a pass for last year IMO. But both could be very special players for the Falcons

Shanny would have schemed Hooper open so there would have been no need for a TE.
Moist Words
Howard has all the potential in the world but Takk and what he COULD be for this team......Takk every single day.

He just had an additional role of SAM in base, didn’t reduce his pass rush snaps
