Unintentional Grounding
Not a draft wizard or Mock genius. Just thought a fun Mock with off-season would be fun to show the peeps. I think you are probably spot on for Grady, but I don't think there is anyway that Vic signs for 7M/yr. I think that is going to be closer to 10 then 7. Also, it seems like you are backloading all of those contracts to save space in 2018 which we clearly need to be this aggressive, but I don't know how plausible that would be for being able to do anything for 2019/2020. It will be interesting to see if Blank goes up to TD and tells him to go for it this off season thinking that we may be on the backend of the 4-5yr championship window that usually occurs. For 2019 and 2020 we would have 24 and 30 something million respectively if I read that correctly on over the cap after doing these numbers. It's a very aggressive 2018 Mock and free agency that allows the Falcons to back load a bunch of contracts ( Very TD like ).

The only thing I don't think you've accounted for is a replacement for Schaub. Unless your rolling with Chris Sims. If we pulled off something like this the team would be vastly better. kiwifalcon
Lot of moving parts LT.Dan also love your work with Voch Lombardi and I got a say I'm really warming to the Tavern Bryan pick I like him a lot. Kog see even he's got Sammy Watkins. I love Christian Kirk myself I still think the Falcons need to find a way to get him on this team. Watch and I work together on a lot of stuff and had been partners in crime for a while. Taven would be a stud with Atlanta. Not being biased as a Clemson fan but Sammy needs to be a falcon. Christian Kirk might be a little difficult if we aren't looking at Julio Jones age as a factor. But an exciting player none the less. djbrough
Great job. I'd take a bit of a different direction in the draft (pass rusher first), but would be happy with this one. Your free agency moves are fantastic.

I still think that either Davenport or Key will be available. I don't think that both will go before 26. If (by chance) they are both gone, then I believe that either Payne or Vea will fall. After doing a few full first-round drafts, I just think that at least one of those four is going to be there. There may be two of them available then, and I would always choose the pass rusher first. In the end, interior linemen are always easier to find, and a ton cheaper. If all four of those guys are gone, Bryan would definitely be the guy. I don't understand the infatuation with key since he's more of a Vic Beasley type, but I can see your train of thought with all the other guys. I don't think he's a Beasley type at all. At 6'5", he's of the Aldon Smith/Danielle Hunter/ Jevon Kearse type. I think he's much more imposing at the point of attack. People think that he's just a speed guy, but the tape shows a lot more (particularly the 2016 tape). Chuck Smith called Key "The best pass rusher from the SEC in the last 15 years". That's a big statement. Moreover, Key and Davenport are basically the same size (6'5" 260lb), so physically there is little difference. Takk and Beasley are the future at DE for the Falcons.
mikeg272
I like this mock alot but are you assuming Dimarco is cut already from the Bills? Would love to have him back. ASJ is the TE I want out of the free agents.

There's a very good chance ,coming from the Bills fans and media, that DiMarco will get cut since he only played 25% of snaps all year and the current front office has made it clear they have frowned upon the double fullback purchase that the previous regime made. It would be safe to assume ,to save the most money, that the bills would cut DiMarco after June 1st.
Doctor Kildare
I think after watching a video you put out, I'm now big on Sammy Watkins. I really would be happy with that free agent class you put there. Sefarian-Jenkins always seemed to give the Falcons a lot of trouble. Like a lot of us, you are thinking that signing a FA guard and drafting another is the way to go. But unlike a lot of us, you have Tyrell Crosby in the 4th instead of Isaiah Wynn in the 1st. I'd sure like a guard to leapfrog Schweitzer and improve the line whether it is Wynn, Crosby or even a new and much improved Wes. And now I am looking forward to what Alex Gray can do.
