Doesn't have to be. Probably Ivanka had a hand in this

He is not against the initiative  so again, a political coup if this gets pulled off.

So the rest of the world is going to quit criminalizing homosexuality because the American President's daughter or someone wanted it to look like he was pushing for it?

She pushes for things most of us can agree with.

I really don't care how we get there, this is long overdue. Get out of people's personal lifestyle choices.

You're talking about it like you think the American president can just decide that for other countries, when Trump himself would never actually ask that of other countries even if he somehow did have that direct power to change their legal systems. You're asking that he receive credit for curing homophobia around the world based on an initiative that wasn't his and probably won't go anywhere because he won't push for it.

Who would be pulling it off if not Trump himself? He didn't even know about it.

Lawfare (today)   Prepare to lose $ in the markets today

Last week, American and Chinese officials held trade talks in Beijing over a five-day period. From Feb. 11 to Feb. 13, a lower-level American delegation, led by Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Jeffrey Gerrish. Feb. 14 and Feb. 15 saw high-level talks between Chinese Vice Premier Liu He and U.S. Trade Rep. Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. President Xi Jinping met with Lighthizer and Mnuchin on Feb. 15. President Trump and Secretary Mnuchin both cast the Beijing trade talks as “productive.” Trump had previously indicated that he might be willing to let the March 1 deadline for a trade agreement “slide for a little while” if both sides made substantial progress. If Trump sticks with the deadline, however, the U.S. tariff rate on $200 billion worth of Chinese imports will rise from 10 to 25 percent.

Despite Trump’s optimism, negotiators in last week’s talks did not make serious progress on addressing structural issues such as intellectual property theft, Chinese subsidization of state-owned enterprises and forced technology transfer. Beijing has pledged to increase purchases of an array of U.S. goods—from semiconductors to energy products. Such moves could assuage Trump if he prioritizes reducing the bilateral trade deficit over structural reforms. Last month, Trump greeted news of Chinese purchases of U.S. soybeans as a “fantastic sign of faith.” But, as several China analysts have argued, Trump’s focus on the bilateral trade deficit means that a “sustainable and long-term agreement on structural reform in China” could well slip through the cracks.

I thought we were past that already? I said earlier I haven't seen him try to shut this initiative down, if that is the case then he is supporting the effort.

"Ivanka, who will be president in 2032 and 2036 after Pence is President in 2024 and 2028, is pulling off a coup against her own father which is ultimately good!"

Boomer brainworm cult with Qanon-like logic stretching.

Chicago police chief Eddie T. Johnson, ripping Smollett in a presser as I type...tape when available.

Chief Johnson said Mr. Smollett paid $3500 for his fake attack because he was dissatisfied with his salary.

The chief is also ripping the Dems who preemptively supported him

One minute investigation would have save you embarrassment...the.lies bare sad and desperate.

President Trump tweeted Wednesday that a new section of the border wall just erected in New Mexico, and he was telling the truth.

Customs and Border Protection confirmed in an email to me that the wall referenced in Trump's tweet was a project announced in April 2018 to build 20 miles of new steel wall that replaced small fencing that prevents vehicle crossing. The new barriers are from 18 to 30 feet high, depending on the terrain.

Money for the project came from the congressional budget passed in May 2017, signed by Trump. It granted $73.3 million toward the Santa Teresa area of border in New Mexico, which sits just outside of El Paso.

"We have just built this powerful Wall in New Mexico," Trump tweeted. "Completed on January 30, 2019 – 47 days ahead of schedule! Many miles more now under construction!"

the new construction for the New Mexico wall was completed on Jan. 30, that would also mean Trump was right about it finishing well ahead of schedule. A press release from the Department of Homeland Security in April last year said that the project would begin immediately and would take approximately 390 days, which would have been in May. (A report in the El Paso Times in September, however, had readjusted the expected finish date to be closer to March.)

Trump last week also bragged that the administration had begun a new 6-mile stretch of wall in Texas. That was also true.
