I cant see them accepting his 5th year option.

You really gonna pay almost 16 mill for what Vic gives you?

His option was already picked up....so you guys have to whine about him until the end of the 2019 season

They have 14 points through three quarters. They might get to 28 but we're probably good with another score.

They've activated the 4 down advantage tho so its dicey

Hopefully he's the #3 DE come next season.

"When a team exercises the option, it becomes guaranteed for injury only. If the player is on the team’s roster at the start of the League Year in his option season, his salary becomes fully guaranteed for skill, cap and injury."

They can still dump him. 5th years are for the teams benefit. Not the players.

If Alex Smith throws that away they would have forced the Falcons to give them another down or gamble on a 4th and short.

What a dummy decision for the savvy vet that he is

Eye test says he's not good. Traditional stats say he's not good. PFF says he's not good.

He's not good.

Umhm...eye test.....might help if the eyes could process what was actually happening...just a hunch

I bet the eye test just missed the second holding call forced by Vic huh??

Or just cut him

I'll be rather amazed if falcons think he's worthy of being their 4th highest paid player next year.

Cool. Play the Condescending *** hole card.

God this place has gotten so unbearably pissy.

Eye test showed that Vic was stopped dead in his tracks until Takk forced Smith to scramble in that direction.

If they were not planning on keeping him....they probably would had traded him when teams asked about him.

he is going to be a falcon next year

Apparently the eye test needs an actual eye test

Beasley was the player I wanted in that draft and was one of his biggest defenders until this season. At a certain point you just need to accept when a player did not pan out the way you expected or wanted.

WOR likes this

Or the offers weren't enough to punt on having another potential pass rusher this season.

I think falcons fans should get to kick every media member who makes a "Julio has no TDs" joke, square in the nuts.

We have one of the best offenses in the league. Clearly we know what we're doing...

Or just having him in a position of no depth for the rest of the season is more valuable than a 5th or whatever:shrug:

Or they have no backup right now, no real way to get one, and didn't want to take away a starting player while they're trying to make the playoffs.

Theh didn't trade Duke Riley either. Bet they'd love to pay him 10 mill next year.

Like hate him or not we don't have a replacement for what Vic does on the roster. Unless some team lost thier minds and offered something way more than he's worth he was never going to be traded.
