There was a red wave in the Senste. I said the House would lose seats, and the GOP might hold on, I was wrong about that and I concede, everything thing else I nailed though.

Like the Senate would pick up seats, and Abrams, Gillum, and O'Rourke would all lose. I hate a pretty good night.

Mark Sanford lost his primary bid against a House Freedom Caucus candidate and Trumper, Katie Arrington.  Republicans moving further right should be good for democrats in November.  SC’s 1st district congressional seat is supposedly safe.  I’m not buying it.  The democrats have a good candidate in place there.  It will be a very tight race.

Called it.

If the Democrats think they are going to waste Taxpayer Money investigating us at the House level, then we will likewise be forced to consider investigating them for all of the leaks of Classified Information, and much else, at the Senate level. Two can play that game!

JFC,  wasting tax payer money to investigate "us". What are you worried about?

He's not worried about anything. He realizes this is a waste of time and money. He just want to get things done. Unfortunately, there is one side intent on investigation over legislation.

That's what Trump is refering too

Hong Kong and London (CNN Business)European stock markets cheered the US midterm election results that will force President Donald Trump to share power with his Democrat opponents.

The outcome left the two houses of Congress split between the Republicans and Democrats but delivered little in the way of surprises. Markets in Asia swung between small gains and losses as investors digested the results early Wednesday, before ending the day mixed. By the time European trading began, the focus had shifted to the positives of a divided Congress — the prospect of a period of government for all the people and not just Republicans.

BOOM

Pelosi says Democrats will focus on health care, draining the "swamp" of special interests

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi -- who could again be Speaker of the House -- told supporters in Washington, D.C., that Democrats will focus on issues like health care and draining the "swamp" of special interests and dark money. Perhaps more importantly, Pelosi did not focus on how Democrats will investigate the president, and didn't bring up impeachment once.

Pelosi thanked the "dynamic, diverse and incredible candidates who have taken back the House for the American people" and vowed to restore checks and balances to the Trump administration. The new Democratic majority, Pelosi said, would "lower the cost of health care, of prescription drugs, raise wages, and clean up corruption to work for all Americans."

She also promised, "We will have accountability and strive for bipartisanship with fairness on all sides" and a "bipartisan marketplace of ideas that makes our democracy strong. "We have all had enough of division," she said. "Americans want peace. They want results."

Yes, the one's that screwed up healthcare then lied to their constituents by claiming they can fix what they screwed up in the first place.

Shocked people like you still fall for that.

Mitch McConnell threatens "the President better not be harassed".  Way to start a fight . . . with a threatening warning.

He will be harrassed, that is a given. Pelosi/Schumer)waters are not going to work with the POTUS.

You know that and I know that. It's not in their political agenda  purview to do so.

At least try and be honest Squirrely Bob.

I've tried looking online, but can't find it.

What is the current party makeup of the House now?

The most recent count had 210 Dems, 197 reps, and 28 undeclared/independent/still too close to call.

I am just glad that the Reps added seats in the Senate should make it easier to appoint conservative judges that believe in the consitution and that are not Gun Control nuts. Overall I believe both parties have some good ideas and some really bad ideas at least with house being Dem and the Senate being Rep I don't have to worries too much about the bad ideas becoming reallity.

I was just wondering how everyone felt about their party's performance last night but I think you hit the nail on the head about both having good and bad ways.

Image result for ocasio cortez

Yesterday Ocasio Cortez was a waitress at a Manhattan taqueria. In January she will be the youngest member of the U.S. House of Representatives in history at age 29. We are taking about New York here, so none of this is unusual.

I don't mean this in an ugly way but people are going to get the government they deserve.
