Last time Saints played NFCG in NO, Pete Morelli officiated one of the worst games in NFL. NFL later acknowledged that there were multiple bad calls including some which couldn’t be over turned as there weren’t enough challenges left.

We got invited to the sequel and it was a repeat of the first one....

Ummmm no. The NFL wants Green Bay vs Dallas or NY Giants vs Seattle. The NFL doesn't care one bit about two smaller market teams playing each other. Doesn't generate the same kind of money those other match ups do.

Yea if only those teams were in the playoffs.

TV, dude.    TV.

It's all about the advertising dollars and big population.  There are 50 million people living in New York.

Follow the bucks.

If the NFL wanted TV money they would want the Cowboys vs. Steelers or something like the Packers vs. Patriots.  A combination of those teams brings in the largest amount of viewers. NYC may have a large population (nobody cares about the Bills though, thats upstate NY) but the Jets wouldnt bring in the viewers that the Steelers or Patriots would.

None of those teams you mentioned are in the playoffs...

He means that, of the teams left in the NFC, the Falcons vs. the Saints would be, by far, the best matchup.

I guess but I think Philly would be a bigger market for them. They probably want Philly/Saints because who cares about Minnesota.

The only way the NFL would want Philly in the NFCC is if another division rival or big market team made it (Cowboys, Giants, Packers, Seahawks), but with the teams and QBs left in the tournament, a heated divison rivalry with two of the best QBs in the game is the best outcome for them.

Eagles vs. Saints = big market team with garbage QB vs. heavily favored smaller market team with HOF QB. That would be horrible for the NFL.

Buffalo is in the middle of nowhere New York and they are the smallest market (besides GB) in the NFL I think.

replace them with LA Chargers. Gotta get some LA love for Godell.

This is what scares me about playing the Saints. Football is a game of inches. It only takes one bad call to tip the balance one way.

With that said... Let's focus on the Iggles.

Yup, don't wanna play the Stains again...and it has nothing to do with fearing the team. It's all about can we get a fair shake in NO during a very important game.
