There's so much I have to talk about!!!!!

The Falcons accomplished something today that A LOT of teams in NFL history don't do, and they accomplished something today that the 1999 Falcons and the 2013 Falcons failed to do. Make the playoffs after successful 1998 and 2012 seasons. No hangover this time! The 2017 Falcons are in after a historical great 2016 season. Back to back playoff appearances for the first time since 2011-12. Back to back winning seasons for the first time since 2011-12. First Super Bowl losing team to start 3-0 since the 2006 Seahawks, and we still made the playoffs at 10-6 (which is a better record than the 9-7 Seahawks from '06)

This is also the FIRST TIME since 1998 the Falcons have made the playoffs with the AFC East on our schedule, of course because we missed the playoffs in 2001, 2005, 2009, and 2013 when playing the AFC East.

The Falcons had the TOUGHEST strength of schedule out of all of the current 12 teams in the playoffs this year, and of course we had the toughest remaining schedule in the NFL and we finished 6-2 after our rough 4-4 start.

The Falcons played in the toughest division in football (NFC South) and we had 7 games on our schedule that featured playoffs teams. The Bills, Patriots, Panthers (twice), Saints (twice), and Vikings. That's more playoff teams on our schedule than last season!

But that's not even including the NFL putting TWO Monday Night road games on our schedule in SEATTLE and TAMPA BAY! The Seahawks had won 11 straight Monday Night road home games and we ended their streak, while the Buccaneers were honoring Jon Gruden and that 2002 team, so they had everything to play for, and 2 weeks later they upset the Saints in the afternoon, the week before they gave the Panthers a tough home game. Before 2016 the Falcons had a 12 game Monday Night road losing streak, and we ended it against the Saints last season. Since then we've won 3 straight Monday Night road games.

So think about this. 7 games on our schedule that featured playoff teams. 2 Monday Night road games against teams who aren't in the playoffs but the Seahawks still finished with a winning record and it was a Monday Night road game in Seattle, plus a Monday Night road game against a DIVISION RIVAL. We had not won in Chicago (Soldier Field) since 1983. We faced the Packers when Aaron Rodgers was at his healthiest all season long! That's a brutal schedule if you ask me, then coming off a devastating Super Bowl loss. Think about all the other Falcons teams throughout our 50+ history who would have never done what this year's Falcons team just did. The 1999 Falcons or 2013 Falcons definitely would not have done this.

Last but not least, we're the only team from last year's NFC playoff picture who's in it this year! How about that! Onto the Rams in LA, and it's gonna be a good one!
