UGA starting to look like a tournament team.

Generally not a great SOS for OOC play, but they have done about as well as could have been expected. Probably 3 wins over eventual top 50 RPI teams... gotta get through the SEC grind this year, which is better than it has been in a long time.

Nah i refuse to even discuss that nonsense.. not because you are wrong at all, but its like peeing into the wind.  As long as coach fox has uga competitive and yes 20 wins is competitive no way he losses his job.. we dont have boosters who care enough to force a change.  Its frustrating as a big bball fan.

Think if anyone wants him to lose his job they're SOL especially after today.

I was at the Temple V Georgia game with dad, and he had those guys playing Maten will get with an NBA team probably be a journeyman, but to me he's got the Talent if he finds the right spot. That other kid from Temple if someone needs a 3pt specialist holy cow sign him lol.

It's really unheard of in college basketball that a coach at a major program can go 9 years and not win one tourney game and keep his job.  even with that being true CMF runs a clean program and he and his team's represent UGA the right way and they are competitive.  CMF needs to get to the ncaa tournament this year and win a game which will make Jones Hayes job so much easier.  jonas hayes is a great recruiter and thanks to him we should have 4 top 100 players next year.  coach fox has plenty of talent now so this is the time to make a run in the sec and in the ncaa tournament.  regarding maten he is just an amazing college player and should be in the mix for ncaa player of the year.  maten can really do it all from inside and outside.  temple is a tough team. they have beaten Wisconsin, auburn, usce, and Clemson.  so this should be a huge rpi helping win.. hopefully it offsets that umass loss.  today was a great win and we have had some nice wins this year, but in 8 days it's all about SEC play.  we need to be competitive at Kentucky, hopefully get a win there.

here is a good read regarding the program possibly changing in year 9 for cmf.

My exact thoughts when I first read about this latest commitment.

I was sure it was some kind of mistake.  Its going to be awesome to get this kind of talent on top of what was signed in the last 2 years. Maybe we're applying some of what we've learned WRT football to the basketball program as well.

Mark Fox is getting it done. UGA didn't recently sign a deal with Adidas did they?

 Maybe it's just that other schools are finding it more difficult to discretely drop off the payments that were pulling them away to begin with. Didn't see the interview/comments myself, but another poster had shared this:

Quote
Elias King, the kid that committed tonight, recently said he, Ashton Hagan, a 5-Star, and a 4-star all from GA have talked about wanting to all 4 play together in college.

We have 4 roster spots available for that class. Our basketball team has the potential to be so nasty.

Some potential for a "football like," recruit led effort, to put together UGA's best basketball class in eons. I'm all for being wrong on Fox, but **** if he doesn't need a tournament win this year in a big way... would go a long way to helping secure these current commits and trending the right direction once Yante leaves this year.
