I hope Kirby can keep these kids' heads on straight. My fear is that they're already looking toward the SECCG. I hope we can make a statement with our remaining games against Kentucky and Tech.

I'm hoping last week was them eating the rat poison and looking ahead to the SECC. That should be a wake up call to put forth 100% effort in each game. I want to see us open up the playbook for Fromm. Last week proved we will need to vs Aub or Bama.

I would be worried about this had we won. I think getting handled by Auburn like that is gonna have them fired all the way up for Kentucky and Tech.

I know this is probably not a popular opinion, but I want to see Eason get meaningful snaps. Or I want them to open the offense up for Fromm. For whatever reason I've felt they have limited the offense this season in part because of Fromm and more so that the team has not needed to do much. Saturday they did not look prepared or willing to open things up. I've felt all year that to beat Auburn or Bama with Fromm wasn't going to happen. Fromm has proved me wrong pretty much all year and I'm not blaming the loss on him. This may be my curiosity more than anything, but I'd love to see what the backup could do with this offense. Could he add another dimension that makes the offense more dynamic? Hard to argue with the results this year without him though. Just give him the 2nd quarter for grins and giggles.

I'd be shocked if this happened.

kentucky is going to look at what auburn did with johnson in their wildcat set and do the same thing with a heck of a runner in snell.. if we don't fix the issue in handling that kentucky is in for a big game against our defense.  our dline needs to step it up..

I don't disagree... but honestly, if there is any positive out of that abortion of a game, it's actually this. The players failed to execute, the coaches failed to scheme well... last week just was abysmal. You get an SEC team that can threaten you but at the same time shouldn't be a huge threat to win the game unless there was more to that loss than what we think...

Should give everyone an opportunity to prove that last week was an outlier to a degree... get things moving back on track, and then have a huge test for the DL and OLBs against Tech's option attack. If we can right the ship for these 2 weeks, stay healthy, then you have a lot to play for in a neutral site game in Atlanta. If not, then this team is not as good this year as we had hoped, but probably about on par with what we expected (most predicted 10-2 I believe).

Agreed. Would love to see Eason get some meaningful snaps. But since, in all likelihood, he's gonna transfer anyway, it may be best just to let Fromm keep at it.

if we aren't going bring eason in against auburn to try and get a spark when our offense has went into the toilet we will never see him again this year.. it said it all when we were in blowouts and eason rarely saw the field.  eason is going to transfer.  he gone.

Yep. When I saw he got no snaps in the second half that was what I was thinking too

Rat poison may have been some of the problem but I don't think enough people are acknowledging the fact that Auburn is a very talented team with a better plan than we had.

I agree completely and the Auburn game was the realization of my worst fears concerning the offense.   Except that I don't really care about seeing Eason simply because what's even the point at this stage of the season.  Plus, if Eason performed well then everyone will second guess the staff's decision to go with the freshman-friendly offense all season = it ain't happening.

Yep and keep in mind Eason might have already mentally checked out. I believe Fromm can do it they just gotta let him. That first drive he passed the ball then after that it was 3yrds and a cloud of dust.

"IF" Fromm cant and Eason can, forget who has been starting or eithers feelings. With what the team still may have the ability to accomplish this year, you go with the guy that can get it done. That may be Fromm, but if its more so Eason then switch. This opportunity may not come again for a while.

I don’t know if Eason is mentally checked out, but I have to say he has handled this season amazingly well. He hasn’t been seen on the sidelines with an attitude problem nor has there been any word that he’s causing any kind of problems behind the scenes. I would be devastated if that were me or my son. I wish him the absolute best whether he stays in Athens or transfers out.

I agree on Fromm, I think he has shown that he can be an effective passer... that just isn’t the offense we’ve been running all season. He has made some mistakes but all things considered he does a pretty good job protecting the ball. I’d love to see the offense open up a bit more. It was pretty frustrating to see how successful that first drive was and then we kept trying to run it after that when it wasn’t working.

Where does Eason go??? Miami or Wash St?? I think the SEC game experience and practice will have him ready. This is Fromm's team now, and Fields will more than likely be the backup/redshirt.

My guess is Michigan, Washington, or Washington State. They will use his redshirt while he sits a year to keep his 2 years of eligibility intact. I doubt Miami is even being considered because Kirby has already blocked transfer requests for Miami. Hate to see him go if he decides to transfer, but in all honesty it’s probably for the best. I’d love for him to come back and win the job but that’s a big risk for his aspirations of getting drafted.

Hopefully Fields can redshirt but if Eason leaves then I don’t think that’s possible. Our depth chart will be Fromm, Fields and some walk ons.

Man I going to miss some of these DGDs. Chubb especially. He truly walked the walk, never gave up and was 100% effort even when his body wasn't. Hope his example rubbed off on a bunch of juniors.

Excuse me while I go.

Someone must be cutting a onion somewhere.
