slewis1952
All I heard was the Cowboys have so many injuries and would be better if they had everyone and yada, yada,. Meanwhile our top running back Freeman is knocked out of the game due to a possible concussion (which no penalty was called as he was on the ground and the hit was to his head). We sucked it up and redirected our offense towards our tight ends and Coleman and others. Troy and Buck latch on to excuses until it became obvious that the Falcons were basically kicking the Cowboys butts. Our place kicker had a hamstring problem and still drilled a 50 yard field goal. The Dallas Cowboys give excuses.... we give solutions. By the way that OL of Dallas who could not block my pet beagle was horrible yet Garrett never left someone in the backfield to give him some help. Just saying... Skeetbird
That's better than hearing about the superbowl loss and the hangover and etc etc. They still werent as bad as Collinsworth. Smile, they won. Who really cares?
FenixFalcon
The cowboys are "America's Team" and they have a better record, so automatically they should beat the stuffing out of the cooked birds (pffft). Aikman is an ex "Boy" so there's your bias there. Joe Buck latches onto the flavors of the year, and the Cowboys get insane amounts of publicity, so that's why he was all about the Cowboys 'til the Birds demanded some respect. They were both backtracking like little b1shes at the end of the game. Went from saying how the Birds couldn't run the ball and our offense was sputtering and halfassed the entire first half. That all changed when we started dominating in the second half. Like I said in another thread, I would've rather seen Romo do our game. He's more honest and isn't a Complete cowboy nuthugger. He gives valid opinions and grants excellent insight to the game, stuff that us normal minds don't see. I remember we were in Cleveland one year and they were talking trash about the birds all the way up til the 3rd quarter when we smacked em down. Was hilarious how silent the booth got. It works that way no matter where you go on the road, generally at home the booth guys talk up the home team, but the Boys travel well and we got stuck with Aikman. PHALCONABERNATHY
In fairness, it is a shock that we came out firing they way we did. We’ve looked like hot @ss for the past four weeks so it kinda surprised everyone. Aikman and Buck are always together and Dallas is the biggest market in football so of course they’re going to try and talk them up. And did you expect any less with Zeke being out? Malachore
April and may have been playing it up a little bit but after a while he was really going in deep on the Cowboys o-line their left tackle, Garrett and their inability to stop the pass rush. Pretty sure at one point he called it pathetic and/or ridiculous. Edited November 13, 2017 by Malachore

I think it’s a difference in approach that most people heard in this game. Early on it was “the Cowboys are without Zeke and their left tackle - can a struggling Falcons team take advantage?” Then it was “if Freeman is out that really hurts Atlanta’s chances.” Then after it was clear it would be a rout it was “the Cowboys are really missing Zeke and Smith (we’ve now forgotten about what a supposedly huge impact the loss of Freeman was supposed to be).” I get why fans get tired of that. It doesn’t bother me all that much, but it’s pretty transparent. Injuries are only ever excuses for why other teams lose. For us, it’s just the Falcons Falconing. Miller2Rison
Guess Aikman hates the Falcons more than the Cowboys, in most Cowboy games he calls he bashes the Cowboys, there is some kind of behind the scenes bad blood between him and Jerry i think. TRUE...and to be honest the Falcons bring that on themselves.
octoslash
I love it when they have to crank up the excuse machine. It usually means the Falcons are tearing the other team a new a-hole.
chitowndirtybird
I heard a lot about the Cowboys' injuries and I noticed Aikman was upset then disappointed but overall they actually called a pretty decent game which was almost the biggest surprise of the day if not for Clayborn. Dr_truth189
It's not like we don't go through this every single game every single year. You'd think our fanbase would stop caring.

In the game I watched Aikman was all over the C'boys, especially the coaches. He was practically turning red with anger when talking about how the Dallas coaches needed to get the LT some help. Yup. Go read the Cowboys message boards. The fans hate it when Buck and Aikman call their games...

Yeah, Aikman is generally quick to call out and bash the Cowboys generally. Almost like he is over compensating. Like I said in yesterday's "announcer bashing" thread, I didn't get a personal bias, but everything was about the Cowboys. It was what they were doing bad and not Atlanta doing right for much of the game. I've seen worse. Last year, GB/Dallas? Joe Buck referred to Elliot as Ezekiel all game. Not Elliot, not Zeke, everytime he touched the ball he yelled Ezekiel.

Good reason as to why Aikman possibly does bash the boys, maybe hes tired of the Boys being the game of the week every week. In regards to him saying their LT needed some help....well he kind of dead, Clayborn abused him worse than Zeke and Ray Rice in an elevator with girls
shc
I do think when it was close, Aikman was biased towards the Cowboys, but by the end, he didn't keep up the charade. Overall, didn't think it was that bad.
FalconJim
If our record had been better, I don't think we would have heard as much bias. It's just natural instinct to go with the team with the better record. I usually enjoy Buck & Aikman calling a game, but making excuses for the Cowgirls was a little over the top, at times ---
NYCFalc
I guess it matters the cowgirls were down their two best offensive players and lost their best defensive player. The ongoing saga of the Zeke thing gets extra commentary.
Mega Flare
Teams with championships, even old *** ones, get the benefit of the doubt. Plus, Cowgirls fans are everywhere.
B3TD
They actually were pretty fair when the Falcons started whooping up. Nothing left to do but acknowledge that they were clicking on all cylinders as Ryan was completing about a dozen passes in a row and the defense was shutting them down. But as for a lot of the game, what they talk about is entirely scripted. Stop listening to what the media says because nearly everything they say is designed to generate a response. Doesn't matter to them if it's positive or negative, what matters is whether you pay attention, which this thread is further evidence that people do. Sorry to keep repeating this point ad nauseum, but it's as if people tune expecting announcers and commentators to give a **** what we actually want to hear. They don't, they only care about ratings. Ergo Proxy
Let's be honest: We know most of the viewers they expect are Cowboys fans or are there because of DAL. Atlanta is a joke to everyone not a Falcons fan or aware enough to give ATL respect for the quality overall that's been around the past decade post-Vick; since TD. If we won that SB we'd be the talk of the league, but instead it solidified everyone's perception and some fans are definitely more self-aware of that; like myself, and so it can be a challenge on a bad day to tune out the mantras, but who cares about the narrative if you win, right?
