Matt Ryan Fastest to 40k passing yards

Recommended Posts

Matt is in his 10th season (I think).  Peyton Manning was in the league for 18 seasons and Brady has put in about 17.

Right now, Matt is about 32,000 yards behind Manning.  If he passes for 4,000 yards per year for the next 8 seasons, he will tie Manning for the top spot in NFL history.  BTW, that assumes that he does not pass for another yard this season.

That is pretty impressive.  This stat depends a lot on longevity, but if you look at Matt's production, there is a strong argument for the HOF.

Brees will have the all-time yardage record, so that number will go up.

I'm not so sure about that. If this season is any indicator, Payton may be looking to reduce Brees' pass attempts. Meanwhile Ryan is just hitting his stride and has been throwing for over 4500 yards a season since 2012. At that rate he'll be well over 60k yards (barring any injury) by the time he's 37. Brees is 39.
