Mercedes Benz Stadium Today

In Atlanta today for my first time ever coming from Iowa. Took the tour today at 4. Few things I noticed.

The good

#1 stadium is beautiful. What a nice looking place for the falcons to call home.

The bad

If I was Arthur Blank I would be pissed. Place was a dirty in some areas. Not horrible, but definitely not what I expected for such a brand new building. Lots of workers just hanging out talking, when there was plenty for them to be doing.

The mens bathroom is the worst smelling bathroom I have ever been in. Reeks of urine. There is no way they are cleaning that like they should be. I mean it was over whelming like I’ve never experienced. No idea how that’s possible for a new building.

Lastly why the **** do they not sell drinks and food during the day? I just can’t believe there was not one single place to buy a drink. I heard a lot of people complaining.

Also I can can tell you this, there are a ton of cowboys fans. It’s going to be packed with them tomorrow. Hopefully everything starts clicking for the Falcons and we can get the win. Cowboys have a lot of key players out, unfortunately Atlanta has a history of not taking advantage of these things.

Just thought I’d share my experience today

Native Atlanta here. Falcon fan since the beginning and owner of PSLs. Little concern about bathrooms smelling like bathrooms. Big concern about Falcon's season, ongoing protests, NFL decisions and the game today. I've been out but have decided to return today to see what the Falcons, the stadium and Arthur Blank give me for my investment. I really want the Falcons to win big today and return some enthusiasm. Am concerned apathy could be a big problem moving forward if we don't win and the NFL doesn't get a backbone.

Is that really a thing? I didn’t notice it but don’t remember flushing the urninal. I was just trying to get out of there

Yep, that is the reason for the smell.  May not be as bad when it’s getting heavy use during a game but when it sits there and dries out.... gross.  All this to save thousands of gallons a year.  A little rinse each day wouldn’t hurt.

I mean it was un freaking real. Look for all you “bathrooms smell like bathrooms” people this isn’t that. I know what bathrooms in stadiums smell like generally until this one. It was times 100. Thanks for the info dmite. Is there a reason to do this? Just to save money I’m guessing?

I'm curious. Did the whole stadium smell like the toilet OR did only the toilet smell like a toilet?

No shade, just trying to understand the gripe.

Rest of the stadium smelled fine as far as smell. Just trash on the ground inside the stadium. Idk if people that were on the early tours were just that careless and lazy or what. Maybe they wait clean it all at the end of every night or something? Just wasn’t as well kept as I would have expected that’s all.

When I toured Jerry world two years ago there wasn’t a thing out of place.

Not sure if it’s money, but they were probably offered a deal by someone to put those in (government or the company itself).  Environment issues are the biggest reason they put those in: to save water.

The bathrooms overwhelmingly stink of urine?

Well, at least we're still competing with New Orleans in ONE area.

But seriously folks...if the bathrooms at the busiest airport in the world (Atlanta) can be kept mostly odor-free and usually quite clean, why the **** can't they be kept that way in one stadium?  That's ridiculous.
