Despite all the SC CBs, the feeling from Rusty has always been good on Tindall.

Unfortunately, the Jordan Davis CB seems to suggest to me, that we went 1-1 on our Carolina targets and Sandidge is staying there.

Mays to UGA and I would crap bricks. If Kirby/Pittman pulls that off (and pulls Hill), I will swear to never doubt them on any recruitment ever again lol.

If you want #1 rated classes, this is what's going to happen. Better brace yourself b/c there'll be more like this on the way.

There's just no room. You already have Bertrand, you're taking Pappoe, Trezman Marshall, who Saban has called the next Reuben Foster, is supposedly a UGA lock, and you're still recruiting guys like Mwikuta.

He just got overshadowed by better talent.

Interestingly, I was looking at potential adds for 2019, and, looking only at fully expected gets, ie. those who Rusty, Kipp, and multiple others have CB'd to us; those who are supposedly just a matter of "when" not "if", there were 6 such prospects:

Owen Pappoe

Wanya Morris

Travon Walker

Trezmen Marshall

Ryland Goede

Curtis Fann

Using the class calculator, just adding those 6, just taking us to 13 commits, it would put us at over 260 for the class...for only 13 commits.

That's not even counting any ratings bumps, since most of those guys are fully expected to rise before their senior years, and a few if not most are expected to be 5 stars.

This 19 class could be record breaking.

I kind of expect that as well, but from a space perspective, do we really anticipate taking more than 3 DTs? If we're bringing in Wyatt and Walthour, I would envision probably only one more "priority" spot to go to a DT, with maybe a 4th floating spot depending on who we have willing to commit. Would think that guys like Barmore and/or Cooper would be higher up the list than Davis, but could be wrong I suppose. He's no slouch by any means.

At this point I'm having to wonder if Walthour doesn't get upgraded. I guess it just depends on who we think that we can land.

Sandidge loves Muschamp. He’ll be a headache when we play them, kid is a dominant player. I’m not high at all on Jordan Davis personally, I’d rather take a better player at a different position if we don’t take Cooper or Barmore.

Clemson fans are at the point where they think they will get everyone. I saw some old threads about Salyer and sooo many of them were straight up condescending toward UGA fans about the Dawgs even having a shot at him. I don’t think they lead for Mays at all, nor do I think UGA leads. Mays barely started talking to anyone about going somewhere other than Tennessee. Salyer is recruiting him to play together and we already know Mays likes Pittman a lot, so I think UGA actually has a great chance at pulling him. But he will take visits and figure out what’s best for him so we’ll see where it goes.

There's been some talk that Kirby isn't really a fan of heavier NTs as they're limited in when they can be used, and he prefers to have a lighter player in that spot who can pay the run and the pass both. He thinks we can get the limited snaps we want a heavier NT for from a PWO.

Supposedly that was why we failed to recruit Cooper for so long, and possibly why we haven't taken his commitment even now.

Kipp on 247 supposedly said that our order for recruiting priority at DT is: Sandidge, Barmore, Cooper, Davis. If true, then if we take Davis, we'd definitely be settling.

I think Cooper would be great after he gets into our S&C program. He doesn’t have bad weight like Hill does but he definitely needs to lose some weight. He is surprisingly quick though. I think he’d benefit big time from transforming his body a bit.

I think Barmore is the one the staff wants though, which Kipp’s order of preference would also indicate. There’s more upside with him to develop.

I’ve had similar thoughts though regarding the DTs and DL in general. UGA is running about as hybrid a defense as it gets. OLBs often get down on the line with a hand in the dirt and we love to run 5 DBs with the star position. They mix it up a lot and versatility was a stated goal when Kirby came in. The way offenses are changing in the SEC and big time college football in general, the Mount Cody types are not as effective.
