Thats a creative way to put it :D I see what you mean. I guess what I mean to say is, Cam had a career year and theyve been effective without him. If nothing less, it frees up other guys to step up. They might find a diamond in the rough. They knew what they had in Benjamin, and it wasnt much.

Perfect way of putting it.

People don't realize Kelvin Benjamin has been the equivalent to a very bad Jarvis Landry for us in terms of hogging targets. Curtis Samuel has been getting open a lot, but never gets looks because he's always one of the last reads.

Sam and his perpetual rose colored glasses... Talks up Kelvin before the season like he is going to beast and now trading him is going to help the offense. Pretty comical.

I mean this whole forum was talking about a perfect season and how Sarkisian would be better than Shanahan.

That's pretty comical.

Man....you really had to reach to grab that one.  Sorry Sam but to borrow a line from another famous Sam.....Hossenfeifer!

LOL at Sammy. When we were comparing Benjamin to Fat Bastid and saying he was too out of shape to do anything, Sammy was here to defend him and talk about how in shape and how good he would be when the season rolled around.

Now, he's a no-good bust that the Panthers used to rob the Bills in this trade.

If Benjamin "hogged" targets then that is on Cam for throwing them to him, not Kelvin. And he was easily the best WR on the team. Makes no sense to trade your best weapon right now when you are still very much in the playoff race.

So you admit you were just blowing smoke when you were defending KB after that picture showed up of him looking like an offensive lineman in the offseason and we had jokes? :D

While he may not be the best and stats don't tell the whole story...I think someone is confused and sour graping.

The bigger issue with Carolina is Cam can't even hit a giant, slow receiver.  How is he going to hit tiny, fast ones like Samual?  Their offense is so predictable as well, every time CMC splits out, he is thrown the ball.  Getting a 3rd and 7th is a good business move for them but it is still a curious move from a football standpoint.

I get the trade going forward but weird to do it during the season like PMF said.

They have one big receiver in Funchess who the team seems to like and rave about his work ethic and improvement.

Then they got Olsen as another big target. They could use some smaller guys/speed in addition to McCaffrey.  They got Samuel but the injuries are affecting his season and he has some ?s.

Just seems like a change you make in the off-season not when your 5-3 and he is your leading receiver and Olsen still out.

I find this terribly amusing, because there are threads on the front page RIGHT NOW where people here wanted Jarvis Landry   VERY BADLY

LOL  man some times this place is just SO much fun

Not really.

Most Panther guys who breakdown the film were very underwhelmed with Kelvin Benjamin. Funchess was easily better. Even Curtis Samuel showed more as a route runner than Kelvin Benjamin ever did.

Route running isn't why you get a WR like Kelvin Benjamin...
