Jimmy Graham Just Became Available to Atlanta

This from Sunday: To make a move for a blindside blocker, the Seattle Seahawks would be willing to part ways with tight end Jimmy Graham for salary-cap purposes, per Rapoport. The team has had trade talks centered around the tight end, Rapoport said on NFL Network's NFL GameDay Kickoff. Seattle has less than $2 million in cap space. Graham, in the final year of his contract, has a $10 million cap hit for this season.

Duane Brown and his big contract just got traded to Seattle!

The veteran tackle has been traded to the Seattle Seahawks for cornerback Jeremy Lane and a draft selection, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.

ESPN first reported the news.

Seattle was in dire need of a tackle after losing George Fant to a torn ACL in mid-August, and has managed to make it through (without any semblance of a rushing attack) the first half of the season before making a move. After seeing Brown on the Seahawks' own game film from Sunday's contest, Seattle saw all its brass needed to complete the deal.

Brown returned last week from a prolonged holdout. Now he'll be getting up to speed with his new team -- a rare instance in which a Monday after a loss turns into a Victory Monday.

Brown has spent his entire career with Houston, which selected him in the first round of the 2008 draft. He's appeared in 133 games over his 10-year career.

Lol! Y'all think that almost washed up TE is gonna save this season? The chess pieces  is here on offense already  just got to have the right chest player to move em. Now that defense there's no hope for that, maybe a stick of Dynamite is the only thing I will trade for on the defensive side.

Remember Tony Gonzalez!  Jimmy Graham streeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetches the field amigo!  We can get the ball to em better with Graham!

Our version of Tony G helped win TOP, not stretch the field.  Our TE’s just had a very nice game despite a drop or two.  Don’t really see this as a need unless Sark has a clear vision of how to utilize him

I'm usually not down for these but y'all are trippin. If wwe can afford it then I say do it. That's a dynamic that helps to eliminate consistent double teams vs Julio. His presence alone will bust the seam wide open.

Plus the Seahawks are desperate to let him go so he could be had for probably the same late draft pick that the Seahawks just gave up.

This is something the Patriots would absolutely jump on if they needed the position.

Bingo!  He is the truth and was a Falcons Killer when he was with New Orleans.  Best part is he has an ax to grind with Payton.  C'mon Dan call ya daddy Pete Carrol and bring in the old head!

That was Sunday!  before they acquired Brown's big contract.  Graham is available.

From today:

“When I heard that, too, I went straight to Jimmy, I ran to him to make sure that it wasn’t bothering him,” Carroll said, via ESPN.com. “He was aware of it, in my observation. So we just talked about it eye to eye, the reality and the truth of it and that there was nothing there and somebody just made that up. By the time we got to game time, I checked back in with him a couple times just to make sure he was OK, because we need his spirit going in the right direction. He came around fine. He was fine. But he was — I don’t know, you’d have to ask him. I think it bothered him.”

why would we want the cancer that is jimmy  to be on this team. He made himself into a fool last season during the playoffs spouting off how he owns Atlanta only to once again Lose..

I guess he doesnt remember the time he got striped of a catch on the 1 inch line during our terrible 2014 season when we swept the sorry azz saints. he doesn't own anything

Why dont folks like this move? Jimmy Graham is an elite talent at TE. He is a guy that can win one on one matchups.

Matt excels with a dynamic TE. He could be great here. Sark is still learning to scheme players open. Solution: Have multiple guys that can win one on one! We are an offensive team. That's always been our identity. I'd be all for it. Unless there's a Defensive guy we really like, Id kick the tires in this.

Probably cause he has a $10 million cap hit that a team has to absorb if they trade for him
