oxygencube
Yea. I know it was in a crappy rainy game where we knew they'd be running the ball.. but still! Edited October 30, 2017 by oxygencube

skullkrusher07
Considering they've been gashed this season in the run game, that's good to see. Maybe Rubin made a bit of a difference...?
Peyton
It was even more impressive considering the Jets started the game with a 12 yard run.
lostnmexico
Rubin AND equally as important....Kemal Ishmael! Ish was ballin out there!
Peyton
It was a total team effort. That's what it takes to stop the run, all eleven guys doing their job.
lostnmexico
Agreed Peyton. Keanu Neal should also be singled out for delivering his best tackling performace of the year but I agree. It was a total team effort whereas we shut down the ground game. Jarrett, Poe, Devondre Upshaw and Reed also did their part as did Takk. We got a strong indication that the defense may be trending up!
Jesus
Jan 3, 2010 Falcons 20 Bucs 10 Jason Snelling smoked the Bucs for 147 yards on 25 carries. Crisp Owens had a pick and most importantly the Falcons finished 9-7 to complete their first back to back winning seasons in franchise history. Raheem Morris was the head coach for the Bucs at the time.
poutlipper
Defense absolutely did their job yesterday.. Opening drive TD, then held them to 13 the rest of the game(including 2 fumbles by the offense). I like what I saw there. I also will give our offense a break considering weather conditions. I am pretty unhappy with Sark, it took him a LONG time to say "hey, let's go to shotgun since we've fumbled it 4 times."

Gonna probably catch heat but reed lost contain on a big run earlier in the game. Barber even mentioned it during the gm. You want a decent run, go towards reed and break outside. Not the first and will not be the last time Reed breaks containment but until Quin and Manuel deem Takk ready.....we are counting on Brooks to make those plays. I really love Takks potential though! He made one of his tackles 20 yards downfield! He is going to be a good player in this league for a long time I think! HOYLE
We probably have looked at ourselves on film. It has been pretty obvious that a QB sneak would go for 20 yards before he was touched. It takes people to defend the run and we have not been set up to defend it. Apparently it is by choice and is probably a very technically savvy way to defend. Beyond my ability to understand I am sure but if nobody is in the middle of the field and the tackles are spread out I am never surprised when we get gashed. This was much better this week.
